Community Servers Are Here: Host Your Own Shatterline PvP

You’ve been asking us one thing again and again: “Can we have PvP back in some form?” Today we finally have something for you:

👉 Shatterline Dedicated Server is now available on Steam

You can now host your own community servers for Shatterline. This means:

  • Any player can download the Shatterline Dedicated Server app on Steam

  • Set it up on their own hardware (home PC, rented server, etc.)

  • Run custom PvP servers for friends, communities, or the public

There are no official, centrally hosted PvP servers anymore – but now you can bring parts of that experience back on your own terms.

How to Get the Dedicated Server

Open Steam Search for:"Shatterline Dedicated Server"Install it like a regular app (it appears under Tools in your library)

Follow the configuration steps from this guide.

What Community Servers Can (and Can’t) Do

Community servers CAN:

  • Host PvP matches on existing Shatterline maps and modes

  • Be configured by the host (rotation, player limits, etc. – depending on your config)

  • Be private (friends/clan only) or public, if you choose

Community servers CANNOT:

  • Replace the old official matchmaking / progression systems

  • Guarantee performance or uptime – it fully depends on the host

  • Offer official ranked/competitive play

This is a more “old school” style of multiplayer: You own the server, you make the rules, you are responsible for stability and moderation.

Manual Setup & Who This Is For

We want to be transparent

this is a manual / advanced feature .

Running a dedicated server may require

  • Python installed

  • Basic understanding of port forwarding and firewalls

  • Editing config files

If this sounds scary – don’t worry. The idea is that community leaders, clans, and tech-savvy players will set up servers, and everyone else can just join and play. We’ll keep improving documentation and examples based on your feedback.

Status: Early & Evolving

This is our first public release of the Shatterline Dedicated Server. Please consider it: • Experimental – expect rough edges • Community-driven – the best setups and configs will likely come from you • Under active iteration – we’ll fix issues and refine based on what we see If you run into problems:

Thank You, PvP Veterans

We know many of you were heartbroken when official servers shut down and PvP disappeared. This step doesn’t magically bring back the full old ecosystem – but it does give the community the tools to keep Shatterline PvP alive in a new way. Thank you for sticking with us, for asking (loudly!) for a way to play PvP again, and for caring enough about this game to host your own battles. See you on the community servers, – The Shatterline Team
