addedHappy New Year! I hope this message finds you all well. It's been a little while since I last updated you all on what's the current progress of Shadow of the Yokai. Well, I've currently released an update to the demo (Version 2.5). I've included further; bug fixes, fixes to typos, controller-input fixes, game re-balancing, audio-adjustments, and additional mechanics such as now being able to throw enemies when they are grabbed.
addedAs for the current state of the finished game, I should be on track to have in finished in 2026. I've been working on adding additional environments (Jungle, Stone Dungeons, and Snowy Blizzards), traps (Buzzsaws and Fire-traps), enemies (Bosses, Bats, Spiders), and goals/puzzles. Other miscellaneous inclusions are also in the works such as; Further settings adjustments, Teleporting portals, Various gadgets (blow-dart, caltrops, bombs), and more level variation. Currently, there are a total of 70 possible room shapes, with randomized possibilities within them. I'm hoping to increase this as to allow the most replay-ability.

Lastly, I just wanted to express my gratitude to everyone's extended support on this project. As of Jan 4th, 2026 we are standing at over 300 wishlists on Shadow of the Yokai, which was way more than I would've imagined for my tiny side project and I'm just so thankful! Here's to 2026! Let's make it a spectacular year!
