I probably started paying attention to the Cocos game engine a long time ago, and it wasn't until recent months that I really started learning Cocos2d-x4.0. Of course, Cocos2d has declined. Ten years ago, it was probably one of the most popular game engines in China, but now it is almost out of demand (the official is currently promoting their new product, Cocos Creator).
So, in the absence of the latest versions of official and civilian documents, I also encountered many difficulties in learning the engine, but fortunately they were almost resolved (there are still some unresolved issues, such as the inability to adjust the background volume). It's troublesome and not visual programming, but after all, as an engine that used to primarily serve mobile games, we can't demand too much. However, in short, if you want to learn a game engine, I'm not very recommending it (laughs).
