Severance - Ghost Behaviour Update
v0.7.1.0
This update focuses heavily on ghost consistency, multiplayer reliability, improved readability, and brand new content.
👻 Ghost Behaviour
Ghost abilities now work correctly when controlled by a player.
Special hunt speeds
Stun overrides
Breaker, light, and door interactions
Unique ghost tells and behaviours These previously only worked correctly for AI ghosts and are now unified across both AI and player-controlled ghosts.
Fixed the Dullahan’s targeting behaviour. It now locks onto one investigator and only selects a new target if that investigator dies or leaves the game.
Fixed the Dullahan’s hunt speed not changing correctly depending on whether its target was moving or standing still.
Fixed the Yurei, Dullahan, and Thaye hunt thresholds not applying to player-controlled ghosts.
Fixed Wraith UV and the Shade’s unique painting not being guaranteed on Nightmare and Severed difficulties.
Poltergeist auto-throws now begin after a random delay instead of activating immediately when an investigator enters the room.
🆕 Parvulus (Now in rotation)
The Parvulus is a mimic ghost that copies another ghost’s behaviour for the entire round.
Always produces Ghost Orbs
Ghost Orbs do not identify the Parvulus
The copied ghost is selected at the beginning of the round
Player-controlled Parvulus ghosts can see which ghost they are currently mimicking
Be careful, the Ghost Orbs are a deliberate trap.
🎨 New Content
Added several new ghost paintings.
Added a unique painting specifically for the Shade.
New Weekly Challenge
⚖️ Balance Changes
AI ghosts are now less aggressive overall.
Reduced the frequency of:
Manifestations
Breaker interactions
Light interactions
Ability usage
Removed the sound effect that previously played when a ghost painting appeared.
🌐 Multiplayer and Critical Fixes
Fixed the infamous “half death” bug, also known as the parkour corpse.
Players could previously appear dead to everyone else while remaining alive on their own screen.
The affected player could still move, use controls, appear alive on the truck display, and receive rewards.
Death is now synchronized reliably, even if part of the teardown process fails. Additional logging has also been added to help identify the cause should the issue ever occur again.
🖥️ UI Improvements
Rewritten every ghost description using clearer, plain language explanations.
Removed confusing raw numbers and technical jargon from speed and behaviour descriptions.
Added a mimic indicator for player-controlled Parvulus ghosts.
You now can see everything on the match results board correctly
🔧 Additional Bug Fixes
Fixed lobby equipment tiles displaying the default EMF Reader loadout for late-joining and non-host players.
Fixed equipped shoes causing characters to sway, rise into the air, or play broken animations.
