changedSteam post image About 4 years ago, I made a little prototype of a puzzle, based on set packing problems like the 8 Queen Puzzle. Over time, the tech I used to build it evolved. It changed from SDL2 to SDL3, and I learned more about game programming and design from working professionally on games. This game, sepapu, is a 4 year, slow cooking side project, that at the end, became my main focus. I put a lot of heart and thought into how things fit together, and I studied puzzle design from some people I really admire. While I am nowhere near as skilled as those people, I think I was able to execute some good ideas, and I think this game has some novel things in it that makes it a worth your time! Since I spent so much time and thought on this game, there are a lot of layers and symbolism, from things I discovered while making the game. These things are not really meant as some sort of "canon", but rather, the game, interaction and art is like a sandbox for connecting ideas that relate to each other via association. In this sense, the game is open ended and invites you to meditate about what this game (or any game) really is!
changedI am feeling glad and grateful and proud for having built something, and completed it. My one wish, is that this game reaches someone, and brings them joy and inspiration. I have some plans for post launch, but I am not sure of the timeline yet. For now, this game is a complete artifact, and stands on its own as, well, an "art piece". Even though saying that sounds a bit pretentious. If you end up playing this game, I really hope you will enjoy it, and if you do, please leave a review as well, since I am just a lone lil dev, and any bit of visiblity and attention really means a lot to me! Thank you for time and attention, and I hope your life will be a good one! -Zeozen
