An issue has been reported for both the demo and full game where suddenly it's no longer possible to gain experience points and level up. This appears to be an issue with Steam Cloud which will be fixed in an upcoming patch.

In the meanwhile, here are some instructions on how to deal with this issue should it come up:

  1. Go to Steam Settings in your Steam client, click on Cloud and turn off Enable Steam Cloud

  2. Go to C:\Users[WINDOWSUSERNAME]\AppData\Local\HeroesProject\Saved\SaveGames and delete everything inside the folder

  3. Start the game once more which will create a new save data file

  4. Go back to Steam Settings and reenable Steam Cloud so that the old save data is replaced with the new one
