Security 51 changes
Dear agents,
A few weeks ago, thousands of you joined the Security 51 playtest and stepped into your first shifts deep beneath Area 51. Since then, we’ve been carefully reviewing your reports, discussions and feedback. The demo includes numerous improvements and additions based directly on player feedback from the playtest.
What’s new in the demo:
A dynamic time-of-day system
A visible infection system. You’ll be able to monitor how far the contamination has spread across the city at the start of each day, or keep an eye on it through the bunker periscope whenever you want
A completely reworked shift structure. Every shift now has its own duration depending on daily conditions and visitor traffic. A new clock interface shows the beginning and end of each shift
Performance bonuses. Process visitors efficiently and finish your work before the shift ends to earn additional rewards
Expanded isolation ward outcomes. Subjects can react to containment in many different ways – some expected, some far less so. Experiment and discover the consequences for yourself
Added mood tracking for isolated subjects
Reworked balance and progression.
Added more visitor types.
Added new unique events.
Added new guard animations at the start of each day.
Added a janitor who cleans the facility and disposes of the results of… unfortunate incidents.
We’ve already been working on even more mechanics and systems for the full release. We’ll have more to share in the coming months.
The Security 51 demo is available now. It will also be part of Steam Next Fest, starting Monday, June 15. Play Security 51 demo, add the game to your wishlist and prepare for your next shift:
