Secrets of the Witch House changes
Thanks largely to player feedback, there have been updates to camera behavior, and traps have been made a bit more fair while still being quite deadly. There have also been improvements to particle effects and game balance.
Also, special thanks goes out to Chris Doerksen for providing the music for level 2! It really fits the vibe of the game perfectly ;) Checkout more of his work on SoundCloud.com.
Music
Awesome new song for level 2 from Chris Doerksen, "Chase."Ultra Paralax 2022.
Balance & Gameplay
Altered the stone ball trap to make it more fair to the player and to allow for more emergent situations.
Optimized AI spawning in Dungeon.
Adjusted enemy spawn count.
Axe and saw blade traps are no longer insta-kills to game characters, but instead do rapid damage that can quickly become lethal.
Weapons in hand will now collide with wall and environment if too close.
Camera
Changed aim camera offsets to improve the view when the player is aiming backed against a wall.
Stopped weapon, ammo, money and potion pickups from interacting with the camera collider for a much smoother experience.
Fixed issue with camera FOV.
Visuals & Effects
Improved player death event by hiding HUD elements and disabling player ragdoll coliders post warp fx for a cleaner effect.
Fixed issue with blood splatter fx and level loading, AI death function..
Added more blood fx.
Added spirit fx on death event for mortal beings.
