Sea of Craft changes
Dear Captains!
Since our grand EA launch seven days ago we have received boatloads of feedback and suggestions addressing numerous important shortcomings in the current build of Sea of Craft. In spite of these shortcomings, we feel reassured having the ongoing support and encouragement of our awesome player base. With your help, we can continue to explore towards new horizons together, getting better and better along the way!
In the week since launch we have been burning the candle at both ends thanks to the incessant appearance of problems we could never even have imagined of prior to release:
Problems and poor gameplay experience related to design and building restrictions in tutorial levels
Game operations and perspective tools as featured in Maya and Unity not fitting players’ preferences
Critical loading errors and poor gameplay experience caused by differences in counting systems between countries
Reversed default language settings (Chinese, English)
Frustrating Open Sea death experience, bosses appearing without warning
Vestigial ghosts, flickering visuals in the crafting system
Locked cursor and framerate limit problems caused by substandard displays on developer systems (player demands on framerate limits exceeded our expectations)
Most of the problems above were tested, fixed and patched as soon as you flagged them. Other than a couple of hardware problems, most of these are optimisations related to the gameplay experience. We are actively working on all bug fixes and optimisations that come our way and we are sparing no effort to bring the vibrant world of Beella to life and make our game well and truly ship-shape.
The good news is that throughout the week, industrious captains like you from around the world have been hard at work at the shipyard:
We saw a towering building rising from the ground in the desert oasis
We saw a squadron of tanks assembling on the sands of the archipelago
We saw a full-size destroyer-class warship cruising the open ocean
And we saw Captains striving tirelessly to achieve their dreams of flight high up in the sky
Alongside the shipbuilding maestros busily building away in Creative Mode are the legends fighting fiercely to tame the Open Sea. At the time of writing, legendary Captain “Leji” has reached the soaring heights of Level 77! The gruesome monster of the southern seas are shivering in their timbers and quaking their tentacles in fear!
The road ahead is long. But with the company of our beloved Captains the journey will surely be a merry one! We will overcome one difficulty after another as surely as you will prevail over the perils of the Open Sea. Together, let us ride the wind and break the waves!
