Scum's Errand changes
First of all, what is Scum's Errand?
Scum’s Errand is a top-down roguelite horde shooter with extraction mechanics. Choose your expedition, dive into dangerous runs, and fight through rooms filled with enemies and loot. Everything you carry can be sold, if you make it out alive. Build your power through a card-driven system, where each card grants scaling bonuses. Combine them to unlock powerful “Omens”, but be careful, every advantage comes with a downside. Managing that balance is the key to surviving each run.
What makes it different?
Risk-driven build-crafting system where every power comes with a cost
Fast-paced top-down combat against overwhelming enemy waves
Extraction-based gameplay. Escape with your loot or lose everything
Card-based progression with powerful synergies and “Omens”
Meaningful choices that shape every run
Procedurally structured runs with room-based exploration
Sell loot and invest in new builds, items, and upgrades
Character customisation to create unique playstyles and memorable runs
The Steam Page is Live!
Big milestone this week! After months of work preparing something that truly represents the game, the page has finally been approved. You can now check out the first trailer, screenshots, and a full description of what the game is about.
Check out the Steam Page (Don't miss it) If the game looks interesting to you, wishlisting is the best way to support the project right now. It makes a huge difference in visibility.
Demo When?
This means polishing the core experience, including:
Items
Spells
Cosmetics
Enemy behaviour
Fixing gameplay bugs
Even though it's “just a demo”, I want it to leave a strong first impression. The goal is to deliver a condensed version of the main gameplay loop, so players can quickly understand what makes the game unique.
I don’t have a fixed release date yet, but I’m aiming for the coming weeks/months.
What’s next?
Over the next updates, I’ll be focusing on expanding and refining the core systems of the game.
You can expect:
A deeper look into the card system and “Omens”
Improvements to visual and sound feedback
Updates on the demo’s progress and scope
This is just the beginning for Scum’s Errand.
If you want to follow the development and support the project early, don’t forget to wishlist the game on Steam. It genuinely helps more than you might think.
More updates coming soon.
