addedIn this post, we want to share our plans with you and talk about the new content you’ll be able to experience in the very near future. The next major step for Scrutator Tenebris is the release of a free DEMO on Steam. We plan to launch it within the next few days after this post goes live. Let’s take a look at what will be included in the DEMO and what has changed compared to the playtest.
addedThe progression in Scrutator Tenebris is divided into days. During the playtest, you were able to play Day 1. We decided it would be wrong to show only the same day again in the DEMO, since many players have already seen it, so Day 2 will be added to the DEMO. This means you’ll be able to play the first two days of the game for free.
changedMain fixes and improvements based on playtest feedback:
addedOne of the main complaints during the playtest was the lack of clear feedback after handling bodies. It was often hard to understand whether the diagnosis was correct, whether the body was sent to the Furnace or the Morgue correctly, and whether items were properly sorted in the Archive. To address this issue, we added a ghostly assistant to the room next to the Laboratory, who records the results of your work with each corpse. Steam post imageSteam post image
addedIt was also very easy to forget that documents and books on the table can be zoomed in for easier viewing or reading. We added a cursor change when hovering over table objects that can be zoomed. Steam post image
fixedA bug was fixed where clicking on a book’s bookmark on the table would instead trigger a click on the sheet of paper lying underneath the book.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in the playtest. We were very happy to see the positive feedback and are extremely grateful for your input and suggestions for improvement.

The help window has been expanded. It now contains tips for almost all core gameplay mechanics.
An issue was fixed where, in certain languages, some letters could appear in different fonts.
There are plenty of other fixes and improvements that will be included in the DEMO, but we wanted to highlight these five in particular. You can also expect a lot of new content in Day 2.
Once again, thank you all very much. The DEMO is coming very soon.
