addedThe Gameplay Overhaul Update (0.4.0)We have finally released the long-awaited update we have been promising for quite a while now! We apologize for the slight delay, but unfortunately, we're just two college students developing the game in our free time, and we lately didn't have much time to work on the game due to our final exams. However the update is here, and with it, we have made major changes in the entire gameplay loop. We have tried to take most of the players' complaints into account, and reworked the game to be more user-friendly with a ton of new quality of life features.
addedMajor ChangesWe have removed the Facility Map, and both of the Story Missions until they're finished. We probably didn't make it clear enough on the Steam page that the story missions were still being worked on, and we apologize for that. All mentions of Story Missions have been removed from the Steam Page until they are all fully implemented, after which we will add them back.
changedMajor ChangesThe Endless gameplay loop has been completely reworked From now on, only one SCP (or group of SCPs if it's a multi-instance one) will spawn per map. This SCP will actively look for victims, walking nearby the squad, increasing your chances of encountering it. At the start of the game, you will have no means of containing the SCP. Your commander will give you instructions to secure the area before containment itself can take place. Once you complete all the tasks and secure the area, you will be given an item required to neutralize and recontain the SCP. The tasks include escorting civilians out, eliminating Chaos Insurgency patrols or rescuing a Foundation Researcher.
changedMajor ChangesMost SCPs have been reworked and rebalanced to account for only one spawning per match.
addedMajor ChangesA compass has been added to the HUD, pointing towards objectives.
addedMinor Changes and BugfixesAdded settings options for changing the master volume, voice chat volume, mouse senstivity and screen resolutions.

The Gameplay Overhaul Update (0.4.0)

We have finally released the long-awaited update we have been promising for quite a while now!

Major Changes

  • We have removed the Facility Map, and both of the Story Missions until they're finished. We probably didn't make it clear enough on the Steam page that the story missions were still being worked on, and we apologize for that. All mentions of Story Missions have been removed from the Steam Page until they are all fully implemented, after which we will add them back.

  • The Endless gameplay loop has been completely reworked

    • From now on, only one SCP (or group of SCPs if it's a multi-instance one) will spawn per map. This SCP will actively look for victims, walking nearby the squad, increasing your chances of encountering it.

    • At the start of the game, you will have no means of containing the SCP. Your commander will give you instructions to secure the area before containment itself can take place.

    • Once you complete all the tasks and secure the area, you will be given an item required to neutralize and recontain the SCP. The tasks include escorting civilians out, eliminating Chaos Insurgency patrols or rescuing a Foundation Researcher.

  • Most SCPs have been reworked and rebalanced to account for only one spawning per match.

  • A compass has been added to the HUD, pointing towards objectives.

Minor Changes and Bugfixes

  • Added settings options for changing the master volume, voice chat volume, mouse senstivity and screen resolutions.

  • Fixed a bug where the game would reset your graphics settings after ending a mission.

  • Fixed a bug where some of the players don't get Game Over screen after ending a mission.

  • Fixed the trigger responsible for opening the Van doors, which would then block players from picking up weapons and equipment from a far.

  • Fixed the bug where player could move freely while on Cameras.

  • Fixed some minor graphical inconsistencies.

As always, we need to emphasise the fact that this game is in Early Access, which means it still has plenty of bugs and areas that need polishing. We are working very hard to make the game more fun and less buggy, but not everything always goes as planned. This is a big part of why this update took longer than expected.

We also want to give a big thanks to our supporters who bought our game and continue to support its future development. You are the best! We will make sure to deliver on our promises and create a game worthy of your trust.

We are always listening! Have an idea for the game? Make sure to tell us on our Discord!
