changedHello Survivors,We’ve been hard at work optimizing your journey through the wasteland. Today, we are excited to release Update 0.2.4 – "The Performance Update." As the name suggests, this patch is entirely dedicated to making Scorching Desert run smoother, faster, and more reliably across a wider range of hardware. By refining how the engine handles visuals and CPU tasks, we’ve managed to significantly boost frame rates and reduce those frustrating stutters.
added🛠 Visuals & CustomizationWe have overhauled the graphics menu to give you more control over how the game looks and performs: Monitor Selection: You can now officially select which display to play on in the settings. Lumen Scaling: We’ve added quality settings for Lumen (Global Illumination) ranging from Low to Epic. Streamlined Quality: We removed the "Cinematic" Lumen setting, as it was extremely resource-heavy without providing a fair trade-off in gameplay visuals. New Toggles: Added dedicated settings for Anti-Aliasing and Shading Quality. UI Cleanup: The graphics menu has been rearranged for a cleaner, more intuitive experience.
added🚀 CPU & Engine OptimizationsTo ensure a stable experience while exploring the vast desert, we’ve implemented several "under the hood" fixes: Smarter Foliage: Improved collision handling on plants and trees to significantly reduce CPU overhead. Refined Tick Logic: Optimized the game's background logic to lower the overall draw on your processor. Async Loading: We’ve implemented a maximum async-loading time for actors and assets. This means when new areas (like Oases) load in the background, they will no longer block the main game thread, effectively eliminating "hard" performance drops and hitches during world traversal. Thank you for your ongoing support and feedback during Early Access. Jump back in and let us know how the game feels on your rig! Stay hydrated, The Scorching Desert Team

Hello Survivors,

We’ve been hard at work optimizing your journey through the wasteland. Today, we are excited to release Update 0.2.4 –"The Performance Update."As the name suggests, this patch is entirely dedicated to making Scorching Desert run smoother, faster, and more reliably across a wider range of hardware. By refining how the engine handles visuals and CPU tasks, we’ve managed to significantly boost frame rates and reduce those frustrating stutters.

🛠 Visuals & Customization

We have overhauled the graphics menu to give you more control over how the game looks and performs: Monitor Selection: You can now officially select which display to play on in the settings.

Lumen Scaling

We’ve added quality settings for Lumen (Global Illumination) ranging from Low to Epic.

Streamlined Quality

We removed the "Cinematic" Lumen setting, as it was extremely resource-heavy without providing a fair trade-off in gameplay visuals.

New Toggles

Added dedicated settings for Anti-Aliasing and Shading Quality.

UI Cleanup

The graphics menu has been rearranged for a cleaner, more intuitive experience.

🚀 CPU & Engine Optimizations

To ensure a stable experience while exploring the vast desert, we’ve implemented several "under the hood" fixes: Smarter Foliage: Improved collision handling on plants and trees to significantly reduce CPU overhead.

Refined Tick Logic

Optimized the game's background logic to lower the overall draw on your processor.

Async Loading

We’ve implemented a maximum async-loading time for actors and assets.
