addedAfter years of work, hundreds of items, bug fixes, and whole new mechanics added it's finally time to enter 1.0! It's hard to believe this little game I started working on in my off-time pre-covid would have so much added and so many lovely people playing it and sharing the craziness they experienced in it, but here we are! Just from memory alone, this is what's been added since it's early access release in December 2023:
changeda bunch of weapon mods, traits weapons can randomly inherit
changedlots of events, good and bad things that affect the player during the run
addedenemy mods, unique enemy enhancers that give them new properties
changedmany crazy status effects like doom, chill, frenzy, poison, bleed, burning and more
changeda very weird but fun tertiary stat called omen chance, which is a little poker mini-game

After years of work, hundreds of items, bug fixes, and whole new mechanics added it's finally time to enter 1.0! It's hard to believe this little game I started working on in my off-time pre-covid would have so much added and so many lovely people playing it and sharing the craziness they experienced in it, but here we are! Just from memory alone, this is what's been added since it's early access release in December 2023:

  • 2 extra final bosses with their own zones, enemies, and endings

  • 2 secret areas with their own bosses and enemies

  • 200+ items

  • 40+ weapons

  • 20+ gods, this games version of classes

  • a bunch of weapon mods, traits weapons can randomly inherit

  • lots of events, good and bad things that affect the player during the run

  • Babel books, a type of item that has randomly generated effects

  • lots of achievements

  • memories, a set of consumables with different effects every run

  • injoyables, a unique type of consumable with addicting properties

  • diseases, a system of status effects that can help or hinder (usually hinder) players

  • the ability to harm NPCs and a crime system to punish it, with it's own set of enemies

  • meta-mods, rare mods on top of mods of weapons that make them stronger

  • difficulty enhancers, things players can do to enhance the difficulty at their own pace

  • enemy mods, unique enemy enhancers that give them new properties

  • hard-mode

  • many crazy status effects like doom, chill, frenzy, poison, bleed, burning and more

  • many tertiary stats like jolliness, blocking, guarding, etc.

  • a very weird but fun tertiary stat called omen chance, which is a little poker mini-game

  • so much more

I was planning on 1.0 to be the previous update since the final area was added and so much was already in the game, but I felt it needed just one more patch to give it the finishing touches it deserved before sending it. There's a lot of stuff coming this update: new weapons, new items, lots of polish everywhere, lots of achievements, plenty of bugfixes, and more.

Some very silly, but strong, weapons that are being added this update include:

  • a weapon that shoots ice storms that fire in a spinning pattern

  • the demon core, a weapon that gives everything (you included) radiation poisoning

  • a weapon that places mines, letting you cover rooms in explosives before battle even begins

  • a shotgun that shoots heat-seeking missiles

THAT SAID, this isn't the end. Bugfixes will still come regularly (between weekly to monthly), and content updates will too but at inconsistent and longer stretches of time as I take time to work on other projects and focus on myself for a bit. I love this game and could work on it forever if given the opportunity, but I have so many ideas I'd love to make a reality and so many things I need to do in my personal life, that big updates will have to wait until I find time to work on them. Expect big updates to go from once a month to every few months.

In any case, I hope you look forward to this update and the future updates of the game! Thanks for reading all this, thanks for still playing, and I hope you have fun with this update!
