Hi everyone,

I'm Matthew, CEO of The Iterative Collective, the publisher of Scarred.

I want to personally apologize for the rough launch and the frustration many of you have experienced. We know you expected more, and we should have delivered better.

Scarred was developed by KOEX Studio, a solo indie developer who has poured an incredible amount of time, effort, and heart into creating this game over the last 3 years. As the publisher, it was our role to support that vision and make sure the final release met the quality bar players deserve. On that front, we fell short. Our QA and testing processes were not thorough enough, and we take full responsibility for that.

At the same time, we’ve had honest conversations with KOEX Studio, and we both acknowledge that more time should have been taken. The decision to move ahead with the release was a shared one. In hindsight, it would have been better to delay and put the game through a more rigorous QA process.

KOEX Studio built something truly unique with Scarred, and it’s on us to help polish and support it properly. We are now working closely with KOEX to address the major issues, including:

  • Crash and stability fixes

  • Gameplay progression blockers.

  • Improving Audio and sound design

  • Performance optimizations

Patches are already underway, and we’ll be pushing out updates as quickly and safely as possible. We'll also communicate more frequently to keep you informed on progress.

Thank you for your patience and for giving your feedback. It’s helping us build a much better experience. And most importantly, thank you for supporting solo indie developers like KOEX Studio. They deserve it.

We’re committed to doing right by both the players and by KOEX Studio.
