Welcome to the Scales of Silence Community Hub!

So I went and wrote 20,000 words of lore for a snake game. And honestly, I'd do it again. I'm Cinder, the solo developer behind Scales of Silence.

changedWhat's This All About? You probably read the store page, so I'll skip the pitch and tell you what it doesn't say.
addedWhat's This All About? When I was a kid, everyone in the school computer room played snake on their noon break. One day I figured out you could edit the game's code. I gave the snake a rainbow skin, added a new food type, even built an extra level. The whole room lost it. This game that everyone had played a hundred times without expecting more - it could be more. Twenty-five years later, that same question is still driving me. How can we make the core gameplay more exciting? That turned into the Shrink Mechanic, which turned into characters with different stats, which turned into a 500-level campaign with 20 protagonists and an ancient war. Somewhere along the way it also became an 8-player couch party game. I regret nothing.
changedWhat's This All About? The game plays like the snake you remember, but nothing dies on first contact. Your length is your life, every collision costs you from the tail, and if you're longer than your opponent, you can pressure them out of existence. It rewards patience and aggression in equal measure, and it gets loud when the couch is full.
changedThe Road AheadDemo (April 20, 2026) 50 levels, 10 characters + 1 unlockable from the boss fight, Score Battle, Endless mode, and local multiplayer for up to 4 players. Your progress carries over to the full game when you upgrade.
changedThe Road AheadFull Release (October 5, 2026) The complete experience: 500 levels, 10 story arcs, 20 playable characters. One purchase, everything included, no microtransactions. Free content updates are planned after launch.

What's This All About?

You probably read the store page, so I'll skip the pitch and tell you what it doesn't say.

When I was a kid, everyone in the school computer room played snake on their noon break. One day I figured out you could edit the game's code. I gave the snake a rainbow skin, added a new food type, even built an extra level. The whole room lost it. The Road Ahead

Demo (April 20, 2026) 50 levels, 10 characters + 1 unlockable from the boss fight, Score Battle, Endless mode, and local multiplayer for up to 4 players. Your progress carries over to the full game when you upgrade.

Early Access (September 7, 2026) The full game with half the campaign unlocked: 250 levels, 5 story arcs, 15 characters, all 4 battle modes, full 8-player local multiplayer, no demo restrictions. The complete game is already built at this point. This short Early Access window (4 weeks) is about listening, polishing, and folding your feedback in before the official release.

Full Release (October 5, 2026) The complete experience: 500 levels, 10 story arcs, 20 playable characters. One purchase, everything included, no microtransactions. Free content updates are planned after launch.
