Development Update #6 Big changes!
Over the past couple months from the last steam update we have made major progress! We usually update our fans via discord as it is way simpler than posting a steam update. Please join our discord if you want to follow along more closely and for the discord exclusive flag on launch.
We have decided to fully embrace the Unity DOTS system for Sails. Our biggest delay was trying to set up custom server software which never worked out. After switching to the new system, development has been proceeding at a steady pace. Please see below for the full outline of the major systems we have added.
3D Model Updates:

All of the boats have been overhauled and replaced with newer more performant models. The boats are the armed launch, sloop, schooner, brig, and galleon. There have been updates to the interiors of the town buildings to add more lively interiors.

Inventory System, Armor and Crafting:
We have fully added the inventory , armor and crafting systems. The inventory system is inspired by other survival games. There is item split dragging, right click item splitting and more! The Armor system is fully set up to allow swapping of clothing with updates to the player model as well. Lastly the crafting system is also set up. Learned crafting recipes are required to make certain items. Also depending on what you are crafting, you will have to be near a crafting bench in order to craft it.

Chat System and Name Tags:
Lastly, we have added a chat system and player name tags which appear above player heads. Right now the chat system just shows player with a number. Once we hook-up the steamworks api it will display your steam name.
