Version 1.10.0 contains a lot of changes either backported from or made in preparation for Sable's Grimoire 2.
Some of these changes (notably the move from Renpy 7 to 8) are quite large. So if you encounter any bugs, please make sure to report them, and remember that you can opt into the "oldstable" beta to go back to the previous version until they're fixed.
Anyway, the changes are as follows.
Steam:
store page updated to reflect requirements of Renpy 8
accessibility section added
added social media links for Bluesky and Mastodon
General:
Renpy updated from 7.5.3 to 8.5.2
Windows 7 and 8 are no longer supported (you can still play on those platforms by opting into the "win7" beta)
several sprite positioning changes to make them fit the screen better
fixed the window sizing, so it's now possible to resize the game window when playing in windowed mode
fixed the behavior of sprites "flashing" when back-tracking through dialog
fixed the navigation menu items' background
changed the buttons and menu headings for the Controls and Options screens to be consistent
updated content warning screen
removed a non-working animation on Drakan's route which caused a visual lag
Hira's sprite has been replaced with the new version made for Sable's Grimoire 2. (Comparison at the bottom of this post)
navigation on several screens has been moved to the top and made larger, so it's more consistent and easier to use on touch screens
added a warning when loading a save file from a different computer (this is a new, required behavior of Renpy 8)
Text changes:
around 3,000 lines of text have changed or been split. In some cases it's to make dialog clearer, less redundant, or more consistent. In others it's for the sake of fitting text in the textbox better when increasing the font size
terminology: magic-imbued objects -> aether-imbued objects
terminology: magical artifact -> arcane artifact
terminology: magical tool -> runic tool
Settings:
the settings screen has been redone, with new settings and different categories
settings all have subtext to briefly explain what each setting does
new setting: textbox opacity
new setting: text size
new setting: dyslexic font
new setting: high contrast text
new setting: UI font scaling
removed Save On Quit setting and made it the default behavior
Demo:
updated to match the full game wherever applicable
fixed taskbar icon
