changedOne other asset, however, was in a much more prominent spot. The main shop image, the blue glowing Basher mech was a screenshot taken from the engine and modified with AI. It became apparent to me, that this is something that leaves a bad first impression and greatly drags down the perceived quality of game. For this, I want to apologize and all in-game AI assets will be gone in version 0.5.0, the shop image will be gone by the time this DevLog is released, leaving only the previously released news articles of RUTHLESS:1 with that eyesore.
addedIt will fix a lot of the issues that were brought to my attention, improve the already existing levels and add a small amount of new Skills for your mechs. An extensive list of changes will be posted when the update arrives.

At some point in the past, I had to admit something to myself. During the development of RUTHLESS:1, I cut corners, and not just once. I released features that were not really usable, did not polish the levels as much as I could have, and worst of all, I used AI to create a handful of assets. In the end, only two made it into the game, at places where they even were completely unnecessary and nobody probably ever spotted them. But they were there and that annoyed me.

One other asset, however, was in a much more prominent spot. The main shop image, the blue glowing Basher mech was a screenshot taken from the engine and modified with AI. Also, in June, I announced the release of version 0.5.0 for August 2026. This time, I will not push the update further away. With the first paragraph in mind, I want future updates to have a quality as high as possible and I want to put more work into chapter four, before I release it. This is why I will postpone the release of the next chapter to version 0.6.0. That said, version 0.5.0 will be released on August 28.

It will fix a lot of the issues that were brought to my attention, improve the already existing levels and add a small amount of new Skills for your mechs. An extensive list of changes will be posted when the update arrives.

This is it for now.

Greetings from Berlin,

Alex
