Running Robot Man 4 changes
The Recruit Exam!
Running Robot HQ has a notorious in-field exam for prospective recuits who want to earn their Recruit License.
To attempt the Recruit Exam, one must first complete the Main Branch then find and purchase a special plugin (more info below.)
Speak to Marcus in the Hub world to learn more -- Glory to the Establishment!
Illia's Journals
Personal journals left behind in dungeons by an elusive recruit who joined the Establishment many years ago...
Find Illia's journals to hear her story about how she prepared for and passed the Final Recruit Exam, as well as learn about some other (shadier) things going on at HQ...
There is a special somebody who is unusually interested in those journals, and willing to ~generously~ pay anybody who collects them all...
New Areas! (Library, Palace, and Royal Laboratory)
New areas in the Running Robot HQ hub world have been revealed!
You will need to find them to complete your assigned tasks and pass the Recruit Exam.
Software Plugins!
New abilities purchaseable from Trelarm in the Royal Laboratory!
There are 4 currently available:
Gravity Field: Pulls in all surrounding objects of a specified class. Works for rubies by default, until you get Trelarm to upgrade it.
Personal Rally Point (PRP): Place and instantly teleport back to personal rally-points.
B.L.U.D. (Basic Levitating Unhinged Drone): A flying companion who will give you tips on your journey. B.L.U.D. can also hack doors, and scan people and places to learn more about them.
Target Disrupter: Spawn a bubble shield which prevents enemies from targeting and shooting you with lasers.
Iceberg Pieces (New collectible)
Found in... ~unusual~ places...
How deep does it go? Could Nikola's theories have some truth to them? Go talk to him in the hub world to get started.
Marcus Objective Guidance
Marcus decided to start hanging out in the Dungeons Hub to offer advice on what to do next. Speak to him to have him analyse your personnel report on the Establishment Database (D.E.) and suggest a task!
Other small updates
Area Log Achievements: Every important area now has an achievement for finding it. Get exploring!
New achievement info board -- shows what is left to do with traffic lights
- Updates board in-gameInteract to view what's changed since the last update
Dungeon branches now have access restrictions. Recruits must earn rank before gaining access to new dungeon branches.
Entry requirements to some dungeons -- including single player only, and ruby fees
Christmas Area! -- can you find it?
Display item name on interact prompt before purchasing from ruby shops
Button to call elevator!
Removed safety teleporter -- from now on if you fall in the lava you die!
Bonus rubies straight into your bank at the end of each floor -- proportional to difficulty of dungeon, clamped at 10 per floor
Eye Watchers accuracy reduced proportional to target characters speed (except Ruby Rider -- bug which I will fix when I have time)
Chat window automatically opens when using Pasqualdo Central Bank (TM)
Running Robot Man develops a taste for inspecting fine art -- walk in front of a painting in your gallery to admire it
Cloaks, bodies, paintings, and other achievements now unlock immediately upon collection (you don't need to reload the hub to equip the new cloak you just bought).
Performance improvements to the hub world (introduced level streaming: should be significantly higher FPS).
There is also a strange table in the corner of Central Hall... Says something about a reward for those who leave a Steam review...
Playtesting and bug searching is currently on-going. Expect small updates in the coming weeks.
