This update brings a complete overhaul of the save system, introducing in-run auto-saving and significant performance improvements for large card-heavy scenarios. We've also fixed a wide range of issues affecting save stability and overall gameplay experience.

Major Updates

Enhanced Auto-Save System

To better protect your progress, we've significantly upgraded the auto-save system.

  • Auto-save at the start of each stage

  • Auto-save at key gameplay milestones

  • Auto-save before and after important story sequences

  • Auto-save before returning to the main menu

  • Added in-game save notifications

Save System Overhaul

We've rebuilt the in-run save system and introduced several improvements for large save files.

  • Improved large save file writing performance

  • Improved migration of legacy save data

  • Enhanced protection against save-related failures

  • Reduced the risk of corrupted, lost, or rolled-back saves

Performance Improvements

We've optimized performance in scenarios involving large numbers of cards.

  • Improved card image loading and caching

  • Optimized card rendering order

  • Improved stability when loading saves

  • Reduced performance overhead in card-heavy situations

New Content

  • Added a backup shop that becomes available after the Crow leaves

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where excessively large save files after long play sessions could cause save failures, load failures, or abnormal game states

  • Fixed an issue where failed saves could still display a success message

  • Fixed an issue where the game could continue exiting to the main menu even when saving failed

  • Fixed incorrect loading of temporary saves in certain chapters

  • Fixed save rollback issues

  • Fixed cases where completed save data was not properly cleared

Save Loading & State Restoration

Fixed multiple issues where game states failed to restore correctly or were triggered repeatedly after loading a save, including:

  • Equipment Cards

  • Events

  • Timeline systems

  • Effects

  • Burn effects

  • FlagWall

  • ArchFlag

  • Area rooftops

  • Slime barrels

Also fixed issues involving:

  • Root Blood acquisition

  • Nectar serialization

  • Equipment icon display

Stability Fixes

  • Fixed multiple causes of game crashes

  • Fixed memory leak issues

  • Fixed minimap-related crashes

  • Fixed loading screen soft-locks

Additional Improvements

  • Added save file diagnostics and background protection mechanisms to help identify and track oversized save file issues
