From the Dev

Hi! GoragarX here. I'm super happy to share that the demo has been a success: 400ish people have played it, the wishlist has almost tripled, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. We are still in rookie numbers territory, but things are looking better than ever.

It's been a heartwarming experience to see people care about my work and share their playthroughs on YouTube, Twitch, etc. I've made a playlist of every gameplay I could find, and I watched all of you play (even if I couldn't understand a single word, hahaha).

Also, I wanted to address something regarding the briefcase: Yes, the second key IS in the demo. Remember that keypad in the lobby?

Bug Fixes

The call of the void

Gaming universal truth: if a player manages to clip out of bounds and stare into the abyss, the void will claim another victim. It's an irresistible call; they will jump into it. The void ruins thousands of playthroughs across thousands of games each year.

  • Fixed a collider issue in the first staircase that allowed the player to fall out of the map

  • Closed the double doors on Dinner for Two anomaly

  • Fixed an issue on Room 6 that allowed you to use a drawer to push yourself through a wall (why would you even do this, guys?)

  • All rooms (even inaccessible ones) now have proper collision to avoid clipping out of bounds.

Since y'all can't behave, if you somehow manage to clip out of bounds and fall to the void, the game will just teleport you back to the stairs. Your player character will even comment about it. Pretty meta.

Briefcase

The briefcase is the big puzzle of the demo, and some of you managed to get their contents without even opening it! Enjoy the lore-drop, you cheaters…

  • Briefcase items are now disabled until the player gets the 2 keys.

Distorted Audio

  • Audio filters and effects are now properly cleaned up after flashback anomalies.

Flipped Corridor

  • The side table near the no-anomaly exit wasn't flipping.

The Stalker

  • The Stalker now closes the door when you get too close. If somehow you manage to enter the Stalker's room, it will kill you. You know you are not supposed to enter other people's rooms, do you?

Radio Broadcasts

  • Fixed a bug that caused the notification "Radio broadcast may change. This is not an anomaly" to not be shown/shown even if nothing was playing. The radio item description now also states that the radio broadcast may change.

Room 06 TV

  • Fixed an issue with the TV screen material that caused the texture to not be properly visible unless the lights were on. Some people confused this with an anomaly.

Room 713

  • Fixed a bug that caused Room 713 lights to not turn on if you opened the left door instead of the right door.

Inventory Inspection

  • Fixed a bug that allowed players to, while inspecting from inventory, inspect other items in the environment.

Settings

  • Fixed a bug that caused the quality dropdown to show "High Fidelity" as the selected quality level when reloading the menu.

  • Fixed a bug that caused the VSync tooltip to not be displayed on the pause menu.

Softlocks

When you enter a staircase segment, the door behind you closes and locks. If you are precise and fast enough, you can get back to the corridor, and the door remains locked.

  • No anomaly/anomaly exit doors now unlock if you step back into the corridor.

In Room 6, you could use drawers to push yourself and get stuck in a corner. Again, why are you doing this?!

  • There's a plant on that corner now. (Big problems, big solutions)

Other

  • For the full release, I remade the hallucination system. I imported the new system into the demo. Existing hallucinations were recreated with the new system.

  • Improved some player animations. Crouch animation is still missing.

  • The synopsis text is now displayed slightly more slowly. Many players said they didn't have time to read it.

  • Adjustments and improvements to mirrors.

1.1b

Fixed a bug with anomaly spawn rate.

Anomaly chance of appearing increased (60% -> 70%)

Added Stars to the main menu
