🗺️ Rombykon Initial Roadmap
Hello! I’m Salva Marhuenda (better known as Guiliam).
After developing DEPO for over 10 years, it’s now Rombykon ’s turn. A new journey, a new experience.
I plan to release the game this year, hopefully in July. But as a solo developer handling both the development and marketing (and many other things), I can’t guarantee a 100% fixed release date. There just aren’t enough hours in the day!
Today I want to share Rombykon’s first Roadmap with you: what the final game will include compared to the demo, and some ideas that are already in progress.
🌌 Base Game Content
100 waves leading up to the final boss battle.
After completing it, my plan is to add an infinite NG+, where you can keep playing without limits, unlocking new upgrades and progressing further.
👥 New NPCs in Development
Currently in the demo you can meet the fortune teller, the merchant, and the scammer. But I’m working on new characters:
The Tailor: sells equipable outfits. (If you played DEPO, this character might sound familiar).
The Rastafari Alien Scientist: allows you to reset skill points, increase the spawn rate of inverted enemies, and create a homunculus to help in battle.
The Sculptor: lets you build interactive elements such as a radio to listen to the soundtrack, a portal to a fanart museum, or portals to other locations.
The Cosmic Baby: I’m still figuring out its function… but I love the idea of a giant cosmic baby hahaha.
🎮 Controller Support
I recently added full compatibility with PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam Deck controllers.
🌳 Skill Tree (100+ and Growing)
There are currently more than 100 skills, and I don’t have a strict limit. Whenever I come up with interesting new ideas, I implement them. If you think of any fun or unique abilities, share them with me! They might end up in the game.
Some recent skills that will be included in the next demo update:
Push: pushes enemies when you spin quickly.
Scholar: shows which enemies will appear in the next wave.
Tailor: the compass marks nearby outfit collectibles.
Skinner: enemies drop more body parts when defeated.
Sting: worker bees damage enemies when they explode.
Twins: summons two worker bees per hive.
Heterochromia: 2% chance for purchased plants to spawn as rainbow variants (x2 health and x2 reward).
Carrier: allows flowers to be transported to another constellation.
Twilight: flowers slowly regenerate health at night.
Electrifying: the Astro Pulse weapon enhances Tesla Pawns.
🔫🌸 Weapons and Flowers
Currently there are:
16 weapons, and there may be more if I come up with ideas that truly add new mechanics. I don’t want to add weapons just for the sake of it — each one should have its own identity.
15 flowers, all with unique mechanics.
Recently added flowers:
Mining Bee Hive: summons bees that sting rocks.
Rock-Thrower Flower: generates random rocks over time.
Corrupted Flower: spawns selectable enemies (ideal for farming XP or outfits).
🛠️ Work Ahead
In the coming months I’ll focus on:
Programming around 75 new enemies (I want about 100 in total).
Designing 22 additional bosses (about 25 total, one per constellation).
Building the areas for the remaining constellations.
Adding more skills, flowers, and other interesting features.
The core mechanics of the game are already very polished and well-tested, so development is progressing nicely. I’ll continue sharing updates in the coming weeks.

Thanks for joining me on this journey. Rombykon is growing every day, and I’m really excited to share it with you. If you have ideas, share them with me, they help a lot!
