The newest DieselStörmers update “Klassenkampf” is live and we bring you the full changelog! One of the most important updates is a dedicated primary weapon per class that was re-tweaked to feel ‘right’ from the get go.

It’s not your most powerful tool, as it has downsides (e.g. short range of the shotgun), but it should still feel good as your main weapon. Every character has his or her own favorite weapon:

There will be more, no worries!) New level design tweaks :

It’s not your most powerful tool, as it has downsides (e.g. short range of the shotgun), but it should still feel good as your main weapon. Every character has his or her own favorite weapon:

  • Stabbygale: Shotgun -> high damage at close range

  • Camille: Rocket Launcher -> a projectile that explodes on contact

  • Brecht: Machine Gun -> a reliable stream of bullets

  • Presto: Flame Thrower -> a piercing mid-range AoE

  • El Cazo: Sniper Rifle -> high bullet speed and damage

Updated special skills for our exemplary character Stabbygale (and infos regarding secondary weapons): Stabbygale character is now equipped with: Primary Weapon: Short-range Shotgun (Upside: no ammo needed; Downside: relatively low rate of fire and range)

New level design tweaks

  • We thickened the black platforms and black chunk outlines so that you can clearly see where you have to go next. This change enhances the level guidance and better separates enemies from each other. After the update we will have less variety in level chunks at first compared to the current build but a more meaningful level layout.

  • Also we added 5m separators between the chunks, to make sure it really feels like going down by a level.

  • New off-screen spawners are spawning waves based on invisible triggers now.

  • As you step on the trigger a clearly readable wave of enemies comes in from outside of the chunks towards you.

  • Regular spawners do not spit out enemies forever anymore, they are exhaustible now.
