Full Rogue Souls update

It's been almost a year since there were any news or updates about the game. This was due to a major wave of changes, as the direction the gameplay was taking wasn't what I had envisioned. In this new demo update, I changed so many interconnected things that it became difficult to release them separately. So, I decided to bundle everything into a single release. I hope this won’t happen again in the future. I don’t remember every single change, but I’ll highlight the most important ones:
Mana System:
The character now has mana, which opens the door to many new ideas. Soul abilities now use this mana to be cast, requiring more strategic thinking when using them. I have many ideas in mind for this system, like an item that deals extra damage by consuming mana.
Interfaces:
Previously, the game had no explanations or indicators for what items, weapons, or consumables did. In this version, I decided to add them.
Enemies:
Improved their intelligence to make battles more challenging. Rebalanced all stats, including health and damage. Completely redesigned boss mechanics, adding new patterns every time you face one. Enemies can no longer leave their rooms (except for bosses).
Armor and Shield System:
Reduced armor points on all pieces, as they were absorbing full hits and playing a bigger role than I liked. They’re still important, but mistakes are now more punishing. Shields now play a much bigger role, with unique parries for each one and lots of armor available for blocking. They can also be carried on your back when wielding a two-handed weapon, acting as an extra armor piece. Each armor piece and shield can now break if hit while having 0 armor points (displayed with a red sprite in the inventory).
Weapon System:
Kept the system of 4 weapons per soul class, but now each weapon has a unique passive or active effect to further distinguish their style. Removed the anvil on the 4th floor that upgraded weapon stats. The character now has 2 weapon slots. I’ll add a way to obtain more weapons later on. Removed the rune system and introduced enchantments. It keeps the core of the previous system but now enchantments are much more powerful in exchange for consuming mana.
Options Menu:
Significantly improved the options menu, which can now be fully accessed even during gameplay. Added the option to use borderless windowed mode.
I’m probably forgetting a few things I’ve added, but I hope you enjoy this new version as much as I enjoyed making it. There are still elements to be added, like the Shop room, which I hope to implement soon along with future updates. Best regards, Tejon.
