'ZLAN 26' Update: 64 Player Lobbies, Spectator Mode, Optimizations & Much More!

As you may be aware, Rocket Boots Mania is part of ZLAN 2026!

Over the last several weeks, we’ve been collaborating closely with the ZLAN team, streamers, and the competitive community to ensure the best possible experience for everyone.

This means big performance boosts, key Quality of Life (QoL) improvements, and more.

🚀64 Player Lobbies

Enjoy racing with up to 64 players in the real-time multiplayer modes including the new ZLAN cup!

🙈Hide Opponents

Want to reduce clutter to stay focused?

• Press [H] to hide opponents

• Press [N] to hide nametags

• More options available in Settings > Game > Nametags

🤩Spectator Mode

We’ve introduced a full suite of new features to make broadcasting and spectating more interesting:

• [BACKSPACE] overview of all players (allows to spectate individual players)

• [F5] static camera showing whole map

• [F6] orbiting camera showing whole map

• [F7] free camera

• [F8] static camera showing the finish

• [ and ] to spectate next or previous players (also available on [TAB] for quick use)

✨New Skins & Sprays

Both Ricky and Zoe have a new ZLAN skin, including an extra variation without the mask as well!Steam post imageSteam post image

Don't forget to use the new ZLAN spray (press [G] by default, change in Main Menu > Sprays)

💪(Huge) Optimizations

We optimized the characters meshes. This improves performance especially in multiplayer with larger player counts, but also gives significant improvement in solo for players with lower end GPUs and CPUs.

⚠️Anti-cheat

The use of macros, auto-clickers, or external tools is strictly prohibited in Rocket Boots Mania and the ZLAN competition.

All runs are recorded and stored on our server, where they can be easily analyzed. Any "illegal activity" will result in leaderboard entry removal or a competition ban.

This update strengthens our anti-cheat measures, ensuring a fair experience for all players.
