A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has participated in the playtest and given us feedback! That feedback is the foundation for today's patch. The playtest will stay online for a few more days so we can gather as much input as possible before the demo release. If you want to play today, sign up for the playtest here:

Balancing

Buffs

  • Improved how attack targets are determined — enemies with low HP are now targeted more consistently.

  • Siegfried's (boss in wave 5) XP reward doubled (100 → 200 XP).

  • Starting weaponLucky Sword improved — higher damage and additional +1 stamina/s.
  • Item: Wooden Shield now grants +2 armor (previously +1).

  • Item: Whetstone now only gives -1 armor (previously -2).

  • Enemy type "Vorstand" deals less damage.

  • Night 6 has fewer enemies.

  • Lumberjack's Axe from night 4 onwards causes less bleeding.

Nerfs

  • Merchant discount is now capped at 50%.

  • Gold per hit changed to gold per 4 hits.

UI & Quality of Life

  • Warning in the shop when an item provides poison/bleed stats but the current class/weapon doesn't use that damage type.

  • Warning in the shop for slashing, piercing and blunt damage when the weapon doesn't scale with it.

  • Tooltips now also appear on item stats in the shop (same as in the stat panel).

  • "Healing" renamed to "Healing per Herb" — tooltip now shows the value per point (+2).

  • "Reroll Price" renamed to "Reroll Discount", description updated.

  • Tooltip for Merchant Discount now shows: discount, maximum (50%), minimum price (1 gold).

Bugfixes

  • Swordsman incorrectly kept the Monk's beard when switching between classes.

Miscellaneous

  • Siegbert the Swordsman now has a new beard.
