While I’m proud of having a demo with multiple hours of playtime, there’s still some work to do, and unfortunately, there were a couple of bugs that did pop up. So here’s a list of most of the updates in Beta 1.2.5!

While I’m proud of having a demo with multiple hours of playtime, there’s still some work to do, and unfortunately, there were a couple of bugs that did pop up. So here’s a list of most of the updates in Beta 1.2.5!

UI and UX

  • Reviewed and improved card description conciseness and consistency

  • Reviewed and improved event description conciseness and consistency (made a few of them much clearer such as “Binding Spell” and “The Man in Black”)

  • Added a key term tooltip for “Bound” in the events “Binding Spell” and “The Man in Black”

  • Added a tooltip when hovering over the Pocket Card slot/icon

  • Made it clear on the End Turn button that you can press “Space” as an alternative to clicking it

  • Improved consistency of several UI elements in menus

  • Added titles to the shop menus

  • Increased the size of the “hit box” on small enemies (128x128) to make it easier for players to click and drag on top of them when playing quickly

  • Added scroll bars to the Inventory Menu, card pile menus, and the Remove Card Menu (used to require scroll wheel or click and drag)

Graphics

  • Removed the tiled backgrounds in the Peddler’s Shop/General Store and Hardware Store and replaced them with a black transparent texture that’s easier on the eyes

  • Added card slot and equipment slot backgrounds in shops which improves UX but mostly helps with making it not seem so empty after making a purchase or before upgrading from the Peddler’s Shop to the General Store

Bugs

  • Fixed a bug where quickly hitting “End Turn” before a particle effect or animation finished from a card, would prevent the actual card effect from being applied (block, damage, gold, etc)

  • Fixed a bug where the key term tooltips could persist after an enemy was killed if triggered exactly at the moment the enemy died

  • Made it so the card being hovered over at the end of the dealing animation will slide out like normal

Those are most of the updates to the demo. Development has also continued on the full game, and I plan on giving more news-type updates later this month.
