And now what we’re here for…
The Rising Dusk v2.0 update is finally here!
So what’s new?
Steam Achievements
One of the most requested features for Rising Dusk. It now has 20 Steam Achievements. A few of them are simple, some of them will require planning, and a lot of them will require avoiding (or collecting) a few coins. Goodluck!
New Challenges
Below Kin-neko-ji you’ll find Sanzaru Gate. Here you can remove checkpoints, or change the block numbers to kanji if you’d like a little extra challenge. Also hidden throughout the world you may find some new NPCs hiding out in their own little mini levels. Get to them and you’ll receive a coupon.
New Costumes
There’s now a few different costumes you can get for completing various challenges in the game. Visit Oni Clothes near Tanuki Town to find out the requirements, and swap your current costume. Can you get them all?
Languages
Rising Dusk has been localised by Shinyuden and is now available on PC in 9 languages including:
English
Japanese
French
German
Spanish
Italian
Korean
Traditional Chinese
Simplified Chinese
The first time you boot the game after the update you’ll be asked to select a language, but after that it can be changed from the options menu.
PLUS...
Other small adjustments and bug fixes. Various little fixes and optimisations to help the game run better and improve the experience.
So what is next for Rising Dusk? For content updates to the game there is nothing more planned. Minor bug fixes or changes will happen only if necessary. For Mac users you may notice there is no update. The v2.0 update will come to Mac at a later date.
And finally the Rising Dusk Original Soundtrack. It is included in the physical version on cassette, and will be coming to Steam and music streaming services in the near future.
Before I wrap this update I want to thank everyone that has played, reviewed and posted about the game since its original release in 2018. Over the years player response has remained positive and many people continue to recommend it to others on social media. So again thank you!
And if you happened to miss it, Rising Dusk was also released for consoles in 2023, ported by Ratalaika and published by Shinyuden. You can find it on Switch, PS4/5 and Xbox Systems.
One last thing, I’ve been working on a new game for a while now. Stay tuned…
