[Update Notice]

Core Setting of the Rim: Soul Jar World

The journey of Rim: Soul Jar begins the moment you fall from the future into the past.

Alongside the hero, a mysterious creature known as the “Host” has also arrived in this era, possessing the ability to reveal its location and draw in its own kind.

Because of the Host, creatures from the future have been swarming into the past, bringing the world to the brink of collapse.

To prevent this, a witch sealed the Host within the village using powerful magic — but this only delayed the crisis.

Update Direction

After much consideration, we’ve incorporated the core setting of the game directly into the actual gameplay.

Now, beyond simple combat and growth, you will progress through dungeons with a clear objective: sealing and transporting the Host.

You must carry the Host sealed inside your jar as you advance through dungeons.

When the seal breaks, waves of enemies will swarm toward you — defeat them, reseal the Host, and continue the journey to bring it back to the future.

[Major Changes]

Weapons

Before: Weapon abilities were obtained through frequent level-ups during dungeon runs.

Now: The weapon level-up system has been removed.

Frequent level-ups made weapon abilities feel less valuable, so now they can only be obtained through Weapon Altars found within dungeons.

This change is intended to make choosing and obtaining weapon abilities a more meaningful moment.

Based on player feedback, we are currently overhauling overall weapon abilities and balance.

Weapon skills are also being reworked into a new form.

These changes will be applied in a future update.

Soulstone System

Before: The jar could absorb up to 6 Soulstones, gaining synergy effects based on their types.

However, we found that the growth potential for each type was too limited.

Now: We’ve shifted to a system where a single Soulstone can be developed in greater depth.

The Soulstone system is still undergoing further rework, and this version includes only part of the ongoing changes.

A more refined Soulstone system will be introduced in the next update.

Jar Bite Ability Enhancement

Before: The bite action had no special role.

Now: The bite now has a hit-based charge mechanic.

When fully charged, using the bite fires a more powerful projectile.

In addition, Soulstone enhancement abilities — which previously triggered automatically upon filling the jar gauge — will now activate when using a charged bite.

Relics

Before: Obtaining the same item again would increase its rank.

Now: All relics are now unique and cannot be acquired more than once.

Each relic has 4 ranks, and higher ranks provide stronger stats.

All relic abilities have also been rebalanced.

Miscellaneous

Adjusted monster health, damage, and animations for better balance.
