Repeated intro
Hey everyone,
What changed
- Gameplay
- Events
- Performance
We've had a huge week on Rhythm Racer, and the biggest addition is something we've wanted for a long time: Cruise Mode.
Introducing Cruise Mode
Cruise Mode is a whole new way to experience the game.
No timer. No score chase. No pressure. Just you, your music, and an endless tube that pulses and shifts with every beat.
Build a playlist from your own library, hit Start, and let the ride take over. The camera glides through one continuous journey — song after song, tube after tube — while the world reacts to the track you're on.
What you can do in Cruise:
Queue up multiple songs and watch them play back-to-back in one seamless flight
Shuffle your playlist or play in the order you picked
Randomize the look — every song can get its own tube colours, rails, patterns, and style
Toggle gems and barriers on or off — pure spectacle, or a little extra visual chaos
Skip forward and back through your playlist whenever you want
Customise your tube before you launch — same deep options as the main game
It's the mode for when you want to feel the music instead of racing it.
Built for the long haul
Cruise isn't just for three-minute bangers. We've built support for longer tracks too — so if you've got epic mixes and marathon playlists, the tube keeps going with you.
We've also spent serious time on performance, so the next song loads in the background while you're still flying. Smoother sessions, fewer hitches, more time in the zone.
Playtest — almost ready
Our Steam Playtest build is uploaded and going through Valve's review process now. Once that's approved, we'll start inviting a small group of early players and streamers to jump in first.
If you haven't already — wishlist Rhythm Racer and follow the page. You'll be the first to know when the playtest opens.
What's next
We're polishing Cruise transitions, tightening performance, and getting everything ready for that first wave of testers. This is the most Rhythm Racer has ever been — and we're only getting started.
Thanks for being here. More soon.
