[Play Now] Another Big Update is Here! [Leave a Review]

Tokyo Game Show 2025 / October Next Fest Update! We’ve released a major update to the RETRYS demo!!

We’ve added and improved tons of elements—character expressions, chase mode, new locations and events, and more. Whether you’re playing for the first time or have already tried the demo, please jump in and check it out!

Here’s a breakdown of what’s new and improved:

🆕 New Features & Gameplay

• Added Chase Mode: if enemies spot you, the pursuit begins (a nice bit of thrill).

• Expanded situations where Bug Programs can be used (based on feedback).

• Added reactions when you pick the wrong Bug Program (based on feedback).

• Heavily remodeled the Cat Mansion (lots of work went into this one!).

• Added new gameplay elements in the Castle Tower (took some real brainpower).

• Added a secret underground room in the tavern (what happens if you sleep in the bed…?).

• Added a pottery shop in town (fufufu).

• Added a rich man’s mansion in town (look forward to a charming new character).

• Adjusted the solution route at the starting farm to add a slight detour.

🎨 Visual Upgrades

• Characters’ pixel art now includes eyes and mouths (feels good).

• Added character images for the Bug Monsters (what do you think?).

• Adjusted the effect colors when defeating Bug Monsters (a touch of horror).

• Enhanced the cat-finding event in the Cat Mansion (with a Showa-era twist).

• Changed the game over screen (kept it simple).

📖 Story & Worldbuilding

• Adjusted dialogue in event scenes to better fit the story and world (still refining further).

• Added a touching new “Boy and Grandmother” episode in town.

• Added dancers to the tavern (spin, spin!).

• Added hints at the inn (based on feedback).

• Added hints in the Lost Forest (based on feedback).

🎮 UI & Presentation Improvements

• Added glitch noise effects on maps with Bug Monsters (easier to notice).

• Adjusted message window size for better readability (subtle, but important).

• If no save data exists, the game now skips the title screen and jumps straight into New Game (extra subtle…).

• Changed the drawing order so map effects appear below pictures (based on feedback).

• Improved review posting flow: you can now open the Steam store page in your browser (please drop us a review!).

🐞 Bug Fixes

• Fixed issues occurring in the Cat Mansion.

• Fixed missing images on the CTR monitor.

• Removed extra white borders around character images.
