Retrovolver changes
We have a nice big update that fixes a few things and some important engine updates.
Enemies
Cowboys now aggressively chase the player down and engage from much further away — and no longer get stuck, jitter, or stand idle during combat.
Sheriffs are smarter — they hold their ground at range, back off if you get too close, and react faster.
Enemies now react when hit, staggering sideways before continuing their attack (fixed enemies spinning when shot).
Enemies across the map now alert each other when a fight starts.
Enemies hold their line until the raid kicks off: they ignore you until you fire your gun, break a breakable object, or strike an NPC — only then do they hunt you down.
Townsfolk
Townsfolk now flee more reliably and navigate around walls when running from the player.
Fixed townsfolk freezing against walls when cornered.
Player
Manual reload added — reload your revolver at any time without emptying it first.
Reloading mid-cylinder only uses the bullets you actually need from your reserves.
You can now move while crouching.
Decreased jump cooldown to 0.1 seconds.
NPC Spawning
NPCs now spawn at random open spots across a town chunk instead of clumping in the center.
Spawns avoid buildings, objects, and other NPCs, and always land on walkable ground.
Fixed NPCs being silently dropped when space was tight — the intended population now reliably appears.
First town can now roll 1–2 cowboys (previously always 1) and 0–2 townsfolk.
Bosses (Giant Rat & Giant Snake)
Bosses now relentlessly chase the player instead of wandering off when you back away.
Boss move speed is set just below your sprint speed, keeping them a constant threat.
Boss attack range scales with body size so big bosses can actually land hits.
Giants are now immovable — bullets no longer shove or slide them backwards, though hits still register and deal damage.
Menus & UI
Fixed button highlights staying white after moving the mouse away.
Fixed various menu navigation issues when switching between panels.
Fixed the post-processing toggle behaving erratically in the options menu.
Post-Processing
Fixed PSX visual effects (fog, CRT, dithering, pixelation) not applying correctly after an engine update.
Bug Fixes
Fixed a crash when returning to the main menu and starting a new game.
