Rescue Ops: Wildfire changes
March has been a particularly intense month for the team: the launch of our Kickstarter campaign, management of the public playtest, and the organization of a Gleam contest. Safe to say, we’ve been busy!
👉 Quick reminder: the Kickstarter campaign ends on April 9th at 12:00 CEST. Don’t miss out on the exclusive rewards, now’s your last chance to support the project!
And if we surpass 40 000€, we’ll reveal a brand-new feature coming to the game…
On the art side
Our artists made great progress this month!
Creation of a Provençal villa, designed to introduce peri-urban fires in future missions
Implementation of retention basins, offering a new way to refill water outside of tankers
And as you’ll see below: a new water bomber aircraft has also been modeled and implemented in-game
On the development side
Here are the main improvements and additions from this month:
Added a mission timer displayed at the end
Added a setting to adjust screen resolution
Added a vehicle in the fire station
Added a tutorial step explaining DFCI gates
Added new help messages (map, truck protection, ...)
New collision FX for the fire hose stream
Reworked intoxication effect: a more visible vignette + blur replaces the old smoke effect
Ongoing hose system rework
And of course… plenty of bug fixes
Playtest updates
Here’s a short video highlighting the main additions in the latest version ✨
Here’s what’s new:
New water bomber aircraft capable of dropping retardant
Retardant now prevents fires from reigniting (unlike water)
Fire trucks equipped with water cannons now feature yellow reflective stripes
Added a speedometer while driving
Work on different hose crosshairs depending on spray modes
New visual effect when using the water cannon
Ability to move the character’s head
👉 Reminder: you have until April 9th to try out these updates.
