🪴 Why I made this

This project started while I was still fully employed in my previous job. Between the long hours and the stress, I didn’t have much time or energy left to care for my plants.

Gardening had always been my way to slow down and reset… and I really missed that.

I remember sitting through long meetings, wishing for that same sense of calm.

During commutes and travel, I started sketching ideas in my journal, imagining a small game where I could bring that feeling with me, even while working.

I sketched gameplay and UI designs and prototyping 3D assets during spare time...

I’ve also always loved getting a bit creative with my plants, reusing containers at home and turning them into little planters. Picnic baskets, jars, and other small things I found around me slowly became part of that habit.

Used an old picnic basket to hold my strawberry saplings!

That same idea made its way into the game, giving plants a home in ways that feel a little more personal and a little less ordinary.

After leaving my full employment, I was finally able to return to the idea with more time and clarity. It felt like a new chapter, both personally and creatively.

Along the way, I reconnected with former coworkers who were also exploring indie development, and together we brought this little project to life.

In a way, this project came together much like the plants I care for... finding new space, new light, and a chance to keep growing.

Repotted is a small reflection of that journey.
