RENNSPORT changes
Our recent community survey received well over 400+ detailed responses. We are incredibly grateful for the feedback and the raw honesty you provided. Our first official Community Debrief is coming out this Friday for your reading.
In that brief, we will step directly under the spotlight to discuss exactly what you told us, how we are prioritizing your feedback, and the concrete actions we are taking to fix the foundation.
Actions speak louder than words
One narrative stood out above all others in the survey data. Our racing community wants more content to expand the competitive footprint of the sim, and you want solid improvements to the AI. We hear you, and we are reacting immediately.
Tomorrow at 09:00 CEST, we are deploying the free Coast to Coast Update.
This free update brings you AI-improvements, two new tracks (Laguna Seca, and Sebring), and additional bugfixes.
You will notice that the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport is not included. We made a deliberate operational choice here. Following the technical bottlenecks that delayed our last major release, we refuse to hold back completed assets from our drivers, instead we are adding the second iteration of the AI (more info below).
To execute this deployment, the servers will temporarily go offline tomorrow, Thursday, June 11, at 09:00 CEST. The estimated downtime for maintenance and update propagation will be approximately 3 hours.
A Permanent Price Adjustment
As we mentioned recently, our previous approach to discounts has been inconsistent. We have struggled to align dates across storefronts, and platform restrictions have prevented us from delivering the deals we intended.
Rather than fighting these constraints, we are changing the model.
Effective Friday, 19th June, the base price of the RENNSPORT Standard Edition will be permanently reduced by 50%. This bypasses the need for platform-specific discount slots and ensures that everyone, regardless of where they play, gets the same entry price immediately. We are delivering on the commitment we made at the Munich Summit: to offer double the content at half the price.
We will continue to manage discounts on other content as individual platform constraints allow, but the barrier to entry for the Standard Edition is now settled and predictable.
The Second Iteration of AI
We are systematically stripping away the limitations of our legacy code. This update introduces a more capable field of opponents:
Performance Decoupling: We have done work to transition critical segments of our AI logic to be framerate-independent. This helps ensure that opponent behaviour remains more consistent regardless of your hardware performance or display settings.
Velocity and Aggression: You will notice a marked increase in overall AI pace. Opponents are now more confident at the limit and faster across the entire lap.
Track Discipline: We have refined the pathing logic to ensure AI drivers stay within the circuit boundaries, drastically reducing the frequency of erratic excursions into the grass.
Behavioral Stability: We have eliminated the "phantom braking" bug that caused AI cars to slam on the anchors without cause. While this was most visible on the Daytona Oval, this is a systemic fix that will improve race flow across all circuits.
- Banking AwarenessWe corrected the trajectory logic for banked circuits. Opponents on the Daytona Tri-Oval now maintain a safe, racing-appropriate line, eliminating the friction and wall-scraping that plagued the previous build.
Our focus on AI improvements stems directly from your survey feedback. We acknowledge ongoing issues with AI collisions, particularly on Sebring and Nordschleife, and have already begun work on the next iteration.
Two legendary American Circuits
True simulation requires circuits that test the structural limits of a chassis and the psychological resolve of the driver. This update delivers two of the most uncompromising tracks in North America.
WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca
Nestled in Monterey, California, this circuit is defined by elevation change and high-risk braking zones. The focal point is the iconic Corkscrew. Dropping 18 metres in a blind, left-right alternation, it requires absolute precision on entry and a willingness to trust your sensory inputs over your vision. One mistake here completely invalidates your stint.
Sebring International Raceway
Built on the concrete slabs of a former military airfield, Sebring is an unyielding test of endurance engineering. The track surface transitions violently between modern asphalt and legacy concrete. Managing vehicle balance over the brutal bumps of Sunset Bend requires a highly progressive force feedback profile and respect for tire carcass deflection. It is a track that breaks fragile components.
Technical Changelog
This update marks our second major architectural iteration on the AI systems. We are moving away from rigid, frame-dependent behaviours toward a more fluid, intelligent opponent model. This release is a direct result of the raw telemetry data and feedback we gathered during your races over the past weeks.
Tracks added
- Laguna SecaAdded to the permanent roster.
- Sebring International RacewayAdded to the permanent roster.
AI improvements
Resolved an issue that caused some AI cars to “wiggle” when driving
Optimised AI code to be less dependant on FPS performance
Fixed an issue where AI drivers would not be able to drive full speed on tracks with banking (increasing their speed
Fixed an issue where the AI would false start on some tracks
Gameplay & Progression
- Championship IntegrityResolved a logic error where race winners were occasionally misreported as finishing second in the global championship standings.
- Transition StabilityFixed a critical session-handshake bug where, under specific conditions, all drivers would be incorrectly marked as DNS (Did Not Start) during the transition from Practice to Qualifying.
Vehicles
Mercedes-Benz CLK LM 1998: Rectified a rendering error where the HUD dashboard display failed to update or show telemetry data correctly during high-speed stints.
User Interface & Localisation
Telemetry Systems: Completed the full translation pass for the Telemetry interface across all supported languages, ensuring consistent data reading for every driver.
Audio
Fixed an issue with the 956 audio missing
Known AI-issues
AI crashing into one another (especially on Nordschleife and Sebring)
The AI will sometimes bump each other out of track limits
If the player does not start driving at race start, they can crash into the player
The AI has some issues with traversing the carousels on Nordschleife
We are still in full attack mode, and are now working on the next DLC targeted for this summer.
