Reflex Unit: Strike Ops changes
Reflex Unit: Strike Ops has just passed 1,000 downloads!
To celebrate this milestone, I wanted to share a little behind-the-scenes look at one of the more unusual vehicles you’ll encounter later in the game: the Roll-a-Mech.
Reflex Unit: Strike Ops is my first Steam release, though I’ve previously developed games for Mobile, Switch, and Meta Quest. One of my favorites to work on was a single and multiplayer Meta Quest VR mech game called Roll-a-Mech.
The name came from the classic Unity tutorial Roll-a-Ball, which many Unity developers will recognize. My version reimagines that idea as a Tachikoma -inspired robot, with an open cockpit design so players can enjoy a full 360° view from inside.
One of the Roll-a-Mech’s signature features is its legs: they can retract and raise, allowing the mech to roll forward at high speed!
In Reflex Unit: Strike Ops (Stage 10 and in Versus Mode), you’ll get the chance to pilot an early prototype of the Roll-a-Mech for yourself.

Thanks for joining me on this little detour from the usual release notes—I hope you enjoyed learning more about the Roll-a-Mech!
Until next time!
