Howdy, Pioneers,
Another month’s flown by faster than a runaway wagon, and would you look at that, it’s Halloween already!
Now, if there’s one thing folks love when the nights draw in, it’s a good ghost story told around a cracklin’ campfire. Heck, my grandma used to spin yarns about a spectral locomotive that would rocket past the farm where she grew up... wait a second, that‘s from Ghostbusters.
Anyhow, now feels like the perfect time to introduce you to Red – one of the colorful characters you’ll meet out on the trail in Red Rust Pioneers. Red’s a trapper who makes regular trips out West to Red Rust Valley to hunt, trade, and spin tall tales over a bottle of whiskey.
He’s a man with a hundred stories, and we thought we’d share one that’s perfect for this time of year.

Behind the Scenes
While Red’s been telling tales, we’ve been busy too!
October’s been all about building and polishing core systems, with two big areas of focus:
Fishing Mechanics – We’ve finished updating the fishing system, adding new UI elements and gameplay tweaks to make it more fun and challenging.
Inventory Overhaul – Work is continuing on the brand-new inventory system. It’s a big job and taking a little longer than expected, so that work will continue through November, and possibly into December.
What’s Coming in November
We’re keepin’ the momentum going as we head into winter, with plenty more exciting updates in the works:
• Continuing the inventory system overhaul
• Updating the crafting and building UI and controls
• Improving character models and animations
• Further polishing the Overlook Lake area
• Adding new crafting recipes
We’ll be back next month with another update from the trail.
In the meantime, we hope you enjoy Red’s tale – and from all of us here at Rusty Robot, have yourselves a spooky, safe, and fun-filled Halloween!
Until next time, stay safe out there, Pioneers.
– Rusty
P.S. Don’t forget to boil your tea.
