Red Metal changes
Kicking in summer with style!
We've received tons of positive feedback and excellent ideas on our G.Round playtesting session - a big thank you to all who tried out our game! We'll be doing another playtest on G.Round soon, so be sure to follow for next playtest date. ;)
A team of three people from Silent Factory also attended Nordic Game 24 in Malmö at the end of May where exhibition visitors could get hands-on with the latest build. We also gained tons of experience from a pitch battle with excellent competitors! You can also read a short news story from a visitor reviewing the game here.
You will soon get to know our team better as we're about to start showing you guys some developer logs! So stay tuned and follow our Steam page and other social media channels.
We've decided to launch the game in Early Access on Steam as our first step. We've receieved so much great feedback from you all we'd really like to involve you in the development process and make Red Metal together with our players. For more on this, see the notes below
Notes about Early Access
Why Early Access? “We want to make this game together with players. Red Metal comes with a lot of unique challenges because there aren't a lot of games like it and we feel the best ideas come from getting a broad range of different perspectives on the physics, the combat, items, weapons, and other features.”
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access? “We plan to be in early access for approximately 10-12 months, but if we feel that the game could still use more work before a full release, we might extend that to a max of 18 months.”
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version? “The full release version will include much more mission content with voiceover, additional levels, and additional characters and enemies. We are also planning to support online co-op multiplayer in the full release (Though we're very tempted to work on this even sooner).”
What is the current state of the Early Access version? “Currently we're pre-release, so the game is currently in a demo state with three playable levels. Three playable characters, seven weapons, thirty items, and sixty five weapon mods. We plan to include much more when launching in early access.”
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access? “The pricing will not change when we leave early access.”
How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process? “We will include a feedback form in the game build to directly submit suggestions and feedback. We also have an active discord community where we gather feedback and suggestions on how to improve the game and help us decide which features to focus on. We do weekly dev streams on discord where anybody can drop in and chat about the game and help us improve the game!”
