As 2025 comes to an end, we wanted to take a moment to talk about the journey so far.

This year has been incredibly meaningful for RedDawn. At one point, we had completely run out of development funds and believed we wouldn’t be able to continue. However, thanks to receiving development support in 2025, we were able to keep working on RedDawn.

In addition, our game was featured by the Japanese gaming web magazine GameSpark, and thanks to Steam Next Fest, we experienced a massive increase in wishlists (currently over 13,000).

As a result, we were finally able to launch Early Access on December 19th.

That said, this kind of background story probably isn’t what most players are here for — so instead, we’d like to share some development updates that we think you’ll actually care about.

Completed Updates

Everything listed below has already been implemented in the current build.

Some of you who play RedDawn very actively may already be aware of these changes. However, since we haven’t always posted detailed update notes, players who didn’t play every new build may have missed them.

We’ve added explanations for the differences between difficulty levels.

Steam post imageWhen aiming or moving the camera, objects that block the view will now become transparent. This prevents your vision from being obstructed during combat or movement.

Other Fixes & Improvements

-Added missing text in various areas.

-The Cry stat on bags now works correctly.

-Fixed issues when using the S14 (animation still pending).

-Fixed issues when using the RP-7 (animation still pending).

-Fixed a bug where enemies outside of vision range could still be attacked (Fog of War maps on Hard difficulty).

-Increased experience gain.

Steam post image-2 new main quests will be added.

Steam post image-3 new sub quests will be added.

Steam post image-3 new skirmish maps will be added.

AT weapons will be updated and modernized.

(The RP-7 and AT4 were originally created before reload mechanics and side-cover systems existed. They honestly were never meant to be usable by players in their current state.)

Closing

That wraps up this development update.

Thank you sincerely to everyone who continues to play and support RedDawn. Your support truly means everything to us.
