Meet the Rebels: Wata

In the chaotic streets of SC01, survival is an art form, and Wata, a female cat, has mastered it. Born and raised among the shadows of the city’s underbelly, she made a living through pickpocketing, hacking, and executing minor scams. The thrill of outsmarting her targets was exhilarating, but it also attracted the attention of much more dangerous entities.

One day, her life took an unexpected turn when a group of Sapien scientists approached her, seeking voluntary subjects for their experiments. Initially, it seemed like easy money, a quick way to escape the grind of street life. Wata even recommended other animals for the program, oblivious to the escalating risks involved. But as the experiments became progressively extreme, the consequences became all too real.

Wata lost most of the fur on her skull, but that was only the beginning. In a horrifying moment, her neck was replaced with a mechanical component—an alteration that not only changed her voice but also made eating painfully difficult. This shocking transformation pushed her to her limits, and Wata resolved that she would never again accept the Sapiens' insidious offers.

Just as she began to regain a sense of normalcy, she received an unwelcome call on her interlink: the scientists were summoning her once more. This time, they revealed that her mechanical neck was part of a broader project aimed at eliminating the need for regular animal sustenance, intending to replace it with "XSapien Brand nutritious gruel," a new product from XSapien Corp. The thought disgusted her; she had no intention of becoming part of their twisted agenda.

With determination, Wata firmly refused their proposal and demanded to never be contacted again. She believed she had finally escaped their grasp. But fate had other plans. One fateful night, while she slept in the safety of an alley, she was jolted awake by the sound of approaching footsteps. Before she could react, a shadowy figure placed a bag over her head, followed by a searing electric shock.

When she regained consciousness, Wata found herself in a dark cell—alone, disoriented, and in agonizing pain. As she huddled in the corner of her confinement, uncertainty swirled around her. With her freedom now a distant memory, Wata braced herself for whatever horrors lay ahead, determined to fight for her escape and reclaim her life.
