addedHere's a spring-fresh update for RealFit. Although this doesn't add a big hero feature, the aim with this update has been to address some of the issues that have been raised through your feedback. This should help keep RealFit in shape as we start work on more substantial content updates.
addedTracking ImprovementsThe look targets (with the tick marks) that were used across numerous exercises, including the cycle crunches and the various leg exercises (for counting reps), have been replaced with a different approach. The new tracker instead looks at the angle you are looking left/right without requiring you to look at any specific target. This allows for smoother, more natural movements and for the leg exercises it also minimizes the amount of head movement that's necessary for counting reps conveniently. This is also more responsive since you never have to stop and hold your gaze for any length of time.
changedTracking ImprovementsThe tracker for the plank with arm circles has been updated to be more resilient to an imprecise floor height calibration.
addedTracking ImprovementsThe estimation of power and energy expenditure has been rewritten and energy is now presented in Kcal (Calories) in the summary for a workout. (For anyone that would prefer not to see estimated Calories, we plan to add a user option in a future update that will let you hide this stat.) Please note though that certain exercises, such as cycle crunches or leg-only exercises still won't register any significant energy expenditure while the algorithm is currently general purpose but for many of the exercises the estimation should be much more useful than the previous energy statistic (actually the previous Energy numbers were completely broken ;-p)
changedQuality ImprovementsThe tool for moving the exercise mat has been improved so you shouldn't see the rotation jump when you first start moving the mat and it also shouldn't rotate wildly if your controller is pointing downwards
changedQuality ImprovementsWhen moving the exercise mat with an Oculus Quest you should now see the guardian boundary while moving the mat (this already happens with other headsets but wasn't working on Quest previously due to an Oculus SDK/firmware issue)

Hi all!
Here's a spring-fresh update for RealFit. Although this doesn't add a big hero feature, the aim with this update has been to address some of the issues that have been raised through your feedback. This should help keep RealFit in shape as we start work on more substantial content updates.
Here's a quick summary of the changes...
Tracking Improvements
The look targets (with the tick marks) that were used across numerous exercises, including the cycle crunches and the various leg exercises (for counting reps), have been replaced with a different approach.
The tracker for the plank with arm circles has been updated to be more resilient to an imprecise floor height calibration.
Detecting when controllers are put down should be more responsive (faster to recognise) and also less likely to fail due to inside-out tracking issues.
The estimation of power and energy expenditure has been rewritten and energy is now presented in Kcal (Calories) in the summary for a workout.
Quality Improvements
The tool for moving the exercise mat has been improved so you shouldn't see the rotation jump when you first start moving the mat and it also shouldn't rotate wildly if your controller is pointing downwards
When moving the exercise mat with an Oculus Quest you should now see the guardian boundary while moving the mat (this already happens with other headsets but wasn't working on Quest previously due to an Oculus SDK/firmware issue)
It's now possible to scroll the UI with the controller thumbsticks
There's a back button in addition to the skip button during a workout
The back and skip buttons are now usable via gaze, in addition to pointer, so you don't need to be holding the controllers to use them
There are simple audio cues at the start/end of exercise intervals
The plank timer has been repositioned to be more visible, without needing to crane your neck
If you have a Quest 2 you should see the correct models for the controllers now
A spurious misalignment of the Quest controller models has been fixed
Please keep the feedback coming - I'd love to hear how you get on with these changes, especially if something isn't working as expected! Join us on Discord via https://realfit.chat/ if you haven't already!
Thanks! - Robert
