Yo,
Steam post imageSince a lot of people keep asking about Rap Simulator, I wanted to let you know that the demo version alpha 1.0 is already being tested by a few people.
Steam post imageThe alpha 1.0 demo is not yet publicly available, because — as you can see in the screenshots — many elements still have a placeholder interface (a small change is planned). Additionally, many parts still lack a complete English translation (the game has grown more than I expected :P, so I’ll leave the translation for last). As you can see, the menu is already in English, but the loading screen and some interface elements are still not in this language.
Steam post imageAdditionally, some NPCs still look identical to the player — this is due to a recent change in the character animation system. I wanted the animations to be more elaborate, because the previous model was too simple and limited development opportunities.
Steam post imageA few weeks ago, a more elaborate radio was added to the game — previously, it was more of a decorative feature. Now, when you turn it on or change stations, the radio “comes to life” in its own rhythm. It’s already fully functional (it can even load songs from our folder), but the radio interface still needs polishing.
Steam post imageCurrently, I’m focusing on finalizing a few key elements: concerts, drug dealing, and freestyle battles (the freestyle mechanic already works, but I still plan to add tournaments). Keep in mind that in a few days some screenshots may be outdated (the final interface and a few other improvements will appear). My goal is to release Rap Simulator this year — or at least a public demo to gather your feedback. Once the demo is publicly available, I’ll be active on the forum.
I don’t want to reveal too much, because the game contains some interesting solutions you won’t find in other titles (if you know my games, you know I like to surprise people — for example, I removed the flashlight in a horror game and replaced it with an old camera with a flash :P). But I’ll give you a sneak peek at what’s in the demo:
Local concertsDrug dealingPrisonFreestyle (local battles without tournaments)The game’s starting room (“room”) and the game’s basic functions: wardrobe/clothing change, radio, news, sleeping, item locker, recording songs, store, etc.ChartsTimelineTape storeAnd something else — something that’s not just another statistic like in other games... ;)Remember that I’m working on this game alone, so it will take some time (I also have a regular job). Cheers!
