addedRailbreak DX Hello! For anyone curious what led us to this decision, when Railbreak was originally created and released it was an off-shoot of R&D into building our next gen co-op survival horror title, Outbreak: Shades of Horror (specifically because of the AI Teammates stretch goal on the Kickstarter). At the time, Shades was in active development and Railbreak was forked on the codebase and was very hard to keep updated. In the last several years, we were able to unify the codebases and rebuild Railbreak into a long-term maintainable product, add 9 new characters, greatly upgrade graphics and texture quality, move to Unreal Engine 5.7.1, enable full hardware ray tracing features on consoles and PC, polish significantly, especially through player gun animations, enemy animations, add destructible environments, improve zombie AI, add training mode, fixing lots of bugs, adding cinematic evenets... and most importantly... Introduce the Remix mode which allows you to choose if you want to face the classic undead, the dinosaurs from DINOBREAK/Tailbreak, or mix the two factions together. Tailbreak and Railbreak DX are now built on this unified codebase and we can now support and update these titles long-term, including adding new content and more over time. As such, to reduce confusion and gently retire the prior product, it is being removed from direct sale on all platforms and Railbreak DX will be the supported SKU going forward. In some cases, the original Railbreak may still be available through bundles in very specific situations, but overall Railbreak DX is the future. If you are a backer on the Shades of Horror kickstarter, or on the Tailbreak BackerKit, be sure to check your e-mail. Free copies are being provided to several tiers on those Kickstarters based on funding level. Please feel free to hop into our Discord with any questions. The dev team is always knocking around on there. We also just had a stream a few days ago on Twitch where we discussed this (and showed off Tailbreak), and our next stream will be early September for the release of Railbreak DX. The original Nintendo Switch version of Railbreak will remain for sale and Railbreak DX will not ship on Nintendo Switch 1 as it is designed as a next generation title, so we're only targeting next-gen platforms and PC. On Xbox, Railbreak DX also supports Xbox Play Anywhere.
