Radar Identified changes
This is a big one — three major features land in this update. Here's what's new.
📞 Coordination Phone You can now call adjacent sector controllers and the supervisor directly from a new phone panel in the radar view. Pick a sector to call, select an aircraft, and coordinate via a live chat transcript with realistic ATC phraseology — both sides rendered as chat bubbles.
Three coordination actions are available:
REQREL — Request release for a pending inbound aircraft. Once the neighbor approves (~10–15 s), the aircraft calls you on frequency as normal.
REQFL — Request a specific flight level for an inbound. An inline FL picker offers five options around the requested level; the AI approves in ~6 s and the aircraft arrives at your cleared level.
REQDCT — Request a direct routing for a pending aircraft via an inline waypoint picker. The aircraft is rerouted before calling in on your frequency.
The panel is detachable for multi-monitor setups and pulses red when unread approvals are waiting.
This is just the beginning for the coordination system. Future updates will expand the phone with more actions — including downstream coordination with receiving sectors (e.g. negotiating flight levels or routings before handoff), emergency coordination with the supervisor when handling squawk 7700 or MAYDAY situations, and cross-sector weather coordination when storm fronts affect multiple sectors simultaneously. The goal is to make coordination feel like a core part of the job, not just a button press.
✈️ Cargo Flights Cargo carriers now appear as regular traffic across all routes: Cargolux, Lufthansa Cargo, Federal Express, UPS, Cathay Pacific Cargo, Korean Air Cargo, Giant Air and Box — all with correct weights, aircraft types, and spoken radio callsigns (Eurotrans, Cargolux, Federal, Giant, Korean Cargo, and more) - not yet all included :).
🎵 Background Music Nine original ambient tracks now play during sessions, shuffled each time so no two games sound the same. Music volume automatically ducks to 30% during pilot transmissions and while you hold push-to-talk, then fades back up smoothly. Separate volume controls for menu and in-game music are available in settings.
💬 Pilot Requests Pilots on long cruise legs will occasionally request a direct routing to a downstream waypoint ("any direct possible"). The request shows in the radio log with an RQ badge on the strip — respond with a DCT command or ignore it with no penalty.
⚠️ STCA Improvements Conflict alerts now clear immediately once aircraft start diverging. No more warnings for handed-off aircraft already outside your sector boundary. AI conflict resolution has been improved with better heading offsets and an 8 NM separation target.
🐛 Bug Fixes & Polish
Weather deviation badge now clears immediately when you issue a heading, direct, or hold command
Aircraft no longer flies back through a storm after handoff — smart-resume now scans the full route
Microphone static noise muted until push-to-talk is held
Flight strip callsigns now legible on blue-tinted incoming strips
Coordination panel properly readable in modern color scheme
Detached strip and phone windows open correctly on secondary monitors
ESC menu spacing improved — buttons no longer overlap the controls reference
EDDM inbounds no longer incorrectly appear in München sector
Happy controlling!
