R.U.S.E.™ changes
This patch includes some important fixes
Please note: this new version is not compatible with replays and saves from the previous version. To access them, use the compat-2 branch available via Steam: right-click R.U.S.E. > Properties > Betas.
Code fixes
Multiplayer desyncs issues have been resolved.
Fixed various in-game crashes
(Compat) Login screen bug:
A fix has been implemented for players trying to run the legacy version of R.U.S.E. who were blocked by a non-functional login screen. Steps to resolve the issue:
On Steam, right-click R.U.S.E. > Properties > Betas.
Select the compat-2 branch.
Launch the game; once in the main menu, exit properly using the “Quit” button (this is important).
After that, switch to the compat branch. The login screen issue should no longer block you
Balance Tweaks
As you'll see below, we've introduced a set of balance changes. Why?
Overall, we believe the game is already in a solid and fairly balanced state, but over time, we've identified a few inconsistencies that felt important to address. Some of these are adjustments we've been wanting to make for a long time, and the re-release has given us the opportunity to finally act on them.
Our goal remains the same: to provide the best possible experience, both in terms of technical stability and faction balance. The changes below are made with that in mind.
That said, we want to be clear: we are not looking to fundamentally change the game. These are targeted adjustments, not a wholesale balance overhaul. We'll continue to monitor things closely and may introduce further small tweaks in future updates, based on what we observe, and of course, your feedback.
