Repeated intro

Hello everyone! After reviewing the Next Fest Feedback, we wanted to release an update to the demo and make a few announcements.

What changed

  • Maps
  • Gameplay
  • UI and audio
changedPricingWe are happy to announce that we have completed development of all of the maps and are doing final testing and polish. With this, we want to announce that the game is releasing May 25th for a price of $12.
addedPricingWe will be releasing the final trailer for the game which will show off all of the maps on May 15th, and at that time the free demo will no longer be available for new players. If you would like to play the free demo, we’d suggest playing it soon!
addedInventoryOne of the biggest pieces of feedback we received was being able to hold multiple items. So we have added an inventory system to the game. You can now hold up to 5 items at any time.
changedInteract Glow UpdatesAnother piece of feedback we received involved the interact glow effect we use to help players find items they can interact with. The flashing was harsh on some players so we’ve updated it to be softer. Now the glow’s strength is determined by the distance from the player. The closer the player is to the item the softer the glow effect is, and the farther away the player is the stronger the effect is. We’ve also changed the color to be white so that it’s easier to look at when close up.
changedThird Person ModeUnfortunately, it was reported that players had issues with getting motion sickness from playing. In order to help prevent motion sickness for players, we have implemented a button to switch from first to various third person mode cameras.
addedSwitch Places / Trapped NotificationIn order to make sure that people didn’t think that they were soft locked in certain parts of the game, we have added a popup notification when a player gets trapped in a location and everyone needs to work together to get them out. If needed there is also now a button combination that will allow the players to switch locations.

Patch Notes

Inventory

One of the biggest pieces of feedback we received was being able to hold multiple items. So we have added an inventory system to the game. You can now hold up to 5 items at any time.

Interact Glow Updates

Another piece of feedback we received involved the interact glow effect we use to help players find items they can interact with.

Third Person Mode

Unfortunately, it was reported that players had issues with getting motion sickness from playing. In order to help prevent motion sickness for players, we have implemented a button to switch from first to various third person mode cameras.

Switch Places / Trapped Notification

In order to make sure that people didn’t think that they were soft locked in certain parts of the game, we have added a popup notification when a player gets trapped in a location and everyone needs to work together to get them out. If needed there is also now a button combination that will allow the players to switch locations.

New Controls

We’ve updated the controls to be simpler while adding in new actions for players. The biggest change is interacting, picking up, and dropping items are all one button now. We’ve also added the following new actions players can use.

  • Camera Zoom - To make it easier to see items from distance and to read text you can now zoom the camera in. - Hold to crouch, sprint - Some players enough holding to sprint and crouch so we’ve added that as an option. - Rotating Items - You can now rotate items to better align with the direction you want them in.

Miscellaneous Changes

  • Tab Map Update - Map Notification Pings - Tutorial Map / Lobby Tips - Steam Names Pulled - Map Updates and Bug Fixes

Thanks again everyone for the feedback and suggestions. We’re hard at work adding the final touches to the game in preparation for the final release!
