Project Hunt changes
Hello, hunters.
This is the developer of PROJECT HUNT.
I hope everyone is doing well.
First of all, I want to sincerely thank everyone who has continued to play and support PROJECT HUNT. The Steam Summer Sale is currently ongoing, and seeing more players discover the game has been a huge source of motivation for me.
If you have been enjoying PROJECT HUNT, I would really appreciate it if you could leave a Steam review.
For a solo developer, every single review means a lot. Reviews help the game reach more players, and they also give me a lot of motivation to continue development.
Also, if you know any friends, family members, or anyone else who might enjoy PROJECT HUNT, please consider recommending the game to them. Unlike larger hunting games made by big studios, PROJECT HUNT is developed by just one person. Because of that, one of the hardest parts for me is getting the game noticed by more people. Even a small recommendation from you can be a huge help.
Today, I would like to share some of the major content plans I have for the rest of 2026 and into 2027.
Please keep in mind that the following roadmap represents the current direction of development. The priority and release order of these features may change depending on development progress, technical challenges, and player feedback.
Planned New Maps
Farm Defense Map
I am planning a smaller-scale map focused on defending a farm from animals such as wild boars, coyotes, and other threats.
The goal is to offer a more compact and defensive type of gameplay that feels different from the large open-field hunting experience.
Arctic Map
I am also planning an Arctic-themed map where players can travel along the cold coastline by boat and hunt seals and other animals resting on ice.
This map is intended to provide a new kind of hunting experience built around coastlines, ice, and boat-based movement.
Amazon Map
Another planned map is set in the Amazon, where players will travel along the Amazon River and hunt dangerous animals such as anacondas, caimans, jaguars, and large birds of prey.
Most animals in this map are planned to be highly aggressive, creating a much more dangerous exploration-based hunting experience compared to the existing maps.
Chernobyl Concept Map
I am also considering a map inspired by a radioactive disaster zone, although the exact setting has not been finalized yet.
The concept is to hunt mutated animals affected by a distorted ecosystem. The animals in this map would not be treated as normal animals, but as special creatures with unique characteristics.
I want this map to have a very distinct atmosphere that feels unique to PROJECT HUNT.
Planned New Weapons
I plan to continue adding more firearms and weapons to the game.
Some of the weapons currently being considered include:
Elephant Double-Barrel Shotgun
Model 1886 Lever-Action Rifle
M1 Garand
Type 99
M98 Custom
Luger P08
More firearms
Wooden bows
More knives
The Elephant Double-Barrel Shotgun is being planned as an extremely powerful close-range weapon, designed to become a special option for taking down large animals.
Planned New Equipment
I am also planning to add more equipment to give players more options in how they approach each hunt.
Some of the equipment currently being considered includes:
Tripods
Hunting stands
Suppressors
Laser sights
The goal is not simply to increase the number of items, but to give players more meaningful choices depending on the hunting situation.
Planned Event Creatures
I would also like to continue adding special event creatures that are difficult to find in typical hunting games.
Some of the event creatures currently being considered include:
Mosasaurus
Velociraptor
At least three additional ancient animals or dinosaurs
These event creatures are planned to offer a different kind of tension and a more unique hunting experience compared to regular animals.
Other Planned Content
In addition to the content above, I am also preparing or considering various other systems and features.
Small animal traps
Fish traps that can be placed underwater
Hunting dogs and pet dogs
New piebald variations for existing animals
More legendary animals
New antler types for deer species
New animals added to existing maps
Trophy room sharing system
Support for extreme long-range shots over 2,000 meters
Calling your horse to your current location
Shooting while riding a horse
Player-to-player tag transfer system
More fish species and fishing equipment
Console porting for platforms such as PS5 and Xbox
For the hunting dog system, I am planning something more than just having a single dog follow the player. My current goal is to allow up to three dogs to appear together.
I want hunting dogs and pet dogs to be more than just visual companions. I want them to become a meaningful part of the hunting experience.
The trophy room sharing system is planned to allow players to visit other players’ trophy rooms and leave likes on trophy rooms they enjoy.
I hope this system will allow players to share the results of their hunts with the wider PROJECT HUNT community.
The player-to-player tag transfer system is being considered as a way for experienced players to help newer players by sending hunting tags to them.
PROJECT HUNT has now been released for more than two years.
I sincerely want to thank every hunter who has played the game, shared feedback, left reviews, recommended it to others, and continued to support its development.
Although I am developing the game alone, I do not think of PROJECT HUNT as something I am building completely by myself.
Thanks to your feedback, reviews, recommendations, and support, PROJECT HUNT continues to grow. I truly feel that I am developing this game together with the community.
I will continue doing my best to bring you more enjoyable and satisfying content in the future.
If there is any content you would like to see added to the game, please feel free to leave your ideas in the comments.
Your feedback is always a huge help.
Thank you.
