Project Cobalt changes
🧪 Project Cobalt — Survival Stabilization Update
A new update has been released for Project Cobalt!
This update includes important fixes and improvements to the building system, save/load reliability, survival balance, weather events, performance, and the overall player experience.
We have also started preparing the foundation for future major updates, including new islands and expanded exploration systems.
🔧 General Fixes
Fixed visual and placement issues with floating ores and items. • Fixed a gameplay issue that caused the player to slide across the map. • Made small optimization improvements to reduce short stutters and freezes. • Fixed several lighting issues in the day and night cycle. • Fixed some quest bugs in the early missions. • Rebalanced fall damage from small heights.
🛠️ Building System Improvements
Fixed build issues that caused some structures to disappear after save/load. • Fixed an issue where players could build again on already occupied build areas. • Fixed cases where some structures could not be built even when the player had the required materials. • Fixed issues with placing materials through walls and getting stuck between walls. • Improved the overall stability and reliability of the building system.
🏃 New Movement Feature
Added a new slide movement ability that can be unlocked through upgrades. • Players now have faster and smoother movement options after progression.
🌦️ Weather and World Atmosphere
The weather system has been heavily reworked. • Rain, sun, storms, and wind transitions are now faster and more noticeable. • The island atmosphere now feels more dynamic, harsher, and more survival-focused. • Improved lighting transitions between day and night.
🍖 Survival Balance
Improved early-game balance for new players. • Chopping trees, finding food, and managing thirst are now more accessible. • Hunger and thirst now decrease more slowly and feel more balanced. • Cold, temperature effects, and sickness have been rebalanced. • Some helpful items have been placed in easier-to-find locations to help players progress more comfortably.
🐻 Wildlife Update
Reduced animal spawn times on the island. • Improved the system for bears, deer, snakes, crabs, and other wildlife appearing over time. • The island should now feel more alive, dangerous, and dynamic.
🧭 Future Content Preparation
Core system preparations have been made for different islands planned in a future major update. • This foundation will support larger exploration areas, new regions, and different island experiences in future updates.

This update was created to make the core survival experience of Project Cobalt more stable, balanced, and playable.
The island is now more dynamic, weather conditions feel stronger, the building system is more reliable, and the early game is easier to understand.
