removedI want to start this post off by saying Thank You. Project Chaos was created as my final university project, and to see the numbers of people who have wishlisted, downloaded and viewed the game is beyond what I could have expected. Whilst this is probably as it's free, it’s still a great sight to see and to no longer sit at the top of the leader board means people enjoyed the game to play enough off it.
changedHowever, everything good must eventually come to an end. Server costs are expensive and I had always planned to shut them down once the year long contract came to an end. As I had planned for this, the game can function without my servers via the use of the direct connect system and users can host their own servers via the download in the tools section of a users Steam library.
changedHow To Host Your Own ServerHosting your own server is really simple, you can download the server and its supporting files from the tools section of your Steam library ( Note: The server is a Linux only build ). Inside the servers folder is a config file that allows you to edit the servers settings, like the port it uses as well as game settings such as the maps and gamemodes. The server can be run on almost any Linux based hardware, even newer Raspberry Pis. Then in game, you can enter the servers PUBLIC IP , and PORT into the direct connect section and load into the lobby that way.
